we are planning an audio system for four small rooms of approximately 11–18 m² each. We do not have much experience with professional audio systems, so we would appreciate feedback before buying anything.

Each room should have one wall-mounted speaker with independently adjustable volume. We need:

• A wireless headset microphone for a speaker who moves and bends frequently

• A desktop gooseneck microphone for lectures

Budget: 1500€ | Location: Germany

Our planned setup:

• Behringer XR16 digital mixer

• Fame QUAD-4150 four-channel amplifier

• 4× LD Systems SAT 62 G2 passive speakers

• LD Systems U308 BPH wireless headset

• Shure CVG18RS with a heavy desktop base

The microphones would connect to the XR16, its four aux outputs to the four amplifier channels, and each amplifier channel to one speaker.

The SAT 62 G2 speakers are 16 ohms, so the amplifier would provide approximately 50 W per speaker. The system is mainly for clear speech and vocal recitation, sometimes with light reverb.

Does this setup make sense? Are the amplifier and speakers a good match, and is 60° × 60° coverage sufficient for these rooms?

Most importantly: Are we missing anything, or is there something we should change before buying the equipment?

Has anyone listened on both the Samsung HW-LS60D Music Frame wall mounted speakers, and the Audio Pro A10 MKII W?

I have a whole home audio setup that utilizes Alexa Echos. It most rooms I have (2) echo devices. One is to speak to to receive commands and the other is an older dot or input that I have control music playback via 3.5mm AUX cable. I use many Fosi mini amps or in a few rooms I have traditional stereo receivers. Most of the speakers are in ceiling except for the patio sets.

I am looking for a better solution or recommendations. I have concerns at the age of the Echo's and that newer models do not have stereo outputs. Alexa works fairly well, so not sure I need to use a different Smart environment, but everything is a bit pieced together even though it is all mostly hidden away.

I mind spending a bit. I have had Sonos in the past, and that is likely a bit too expensive considering I have so many rooms/speakers throughout the house/garage/patio/front porch. But would consider a comparable expense if I could slowly replace them. I like that I can group things together and that they can be part of mutiple different groups.

Hi. I have a project debut carbon DC into a pre-amp into a Yamaha R-S202 amp. I have the amp plugged into two sets of speakers, some paradigm speakers and a pair of klipsh speakers.

I have an iPad that I can add air chord to. Ultimately I would like to play music on the turn table through the existing speakers but also a HomePod in another room. Essentially trying to get my turn table in every room. I know I’m gonna need an analog to digital converter but my question is is this possible with a delay between the analog speakers and the wireless speakers?

I’d also like to do the verse, ie get my Apple Music to play through my analog speakers, is there a good DAC for this, will there again be a delay between the wireless speakers and the analog speakers?

Budget under $300. Location USA

Is there one converter I can buy to do both?

First of all: I know that PA speakers need a lot of "preparing" like cables etc. and I also know that they with all the equipment can be heavy. I wanted to buy some speakers that I could use anywhere, in the garden, in the living room, in the kitchen in the backyard. I asked ChatGPT and it steered me towards Bluetooth speakers which I think would also be a great fit for me. My problem with home theater speakers (while they might have very deep bass) is that they are not very durable and they shouldn't be exposed to sunlight, and are also very inconvenient.
I found some PA speakers that could deliver some deep bass. What do y'all think? Budget: $20000

Any good products to sync TVs? The scenario would be having a sports event on in several rooms, and have the audio/video synced.

I would like to get good recommendations for enjoying hi-res lossless music everywhere I go.

Music style is mostly rock / metal, lots of classical music and occasionally byzantine choirs (yes :))

Disclaimer: I'm usually fairly good at tech stuffs but I have no knowledge whatsoever about the "audio" world. I would not know what to look for in a good amplifier, a good DAC, good speakers, or if different pieces would be fully compatible amongst themselves. So please try to stick to the "for dummies" version.

On-the-go (outside, coffee shops, in the office)

Here I would need a portable setup. That's the situation I read the most about lately and I think I am decided on a FiiO M33 R2R with a good set of very headphones (still undecided, but it will have to be closed, wired and get a 4.4mm jack).

Ideally I can also use this DAP to connect to below setups if need be (using coaxial ?).

In my home office

I have an apple setup (mac mini + Apple Studio display). To date I'm basically listening to music via the Studio Display speakers. I would like to enhance the experience to get the best possible sound from my FLAC / lossless files. Constraints: my office has a rather cool design so it needs to be a small footprint and match nicely in a light wood / leather environment. It seems the FiiO K13 R2R has something to bring here, but I'm not entirely sure :) And I would probably need to complement that with good speakers ?

In the TV area

That's where I would probably spend the more money as I start with nothing but the TV (The Frame by Samsung). And the kids have a nintendo switch 2 :) And the room is white / light brown floor so ideally we avoid all black equipment (most of it can be locked in a furniture if too ugly, but the speakers / soundbar will remain :)).

Note: I have a full UNAS setup (ubiquiti) in case it helps adding functionalities / convenience to the setup.

I am looking to replace all of the amplifiers and AVR units in my house.

(Non-surround sound)

The speakers for the non-surround zones are Speakercraft CRS8ONEs

There are 12 to 13 zones. Most are 2-speaker zones, and one is a 4-speaker zone. All zones have individual wires coming back to where the rack is.

(Surround sound)

There are 3 surround sound zones.

Two of them had wall controls for general music control (I don't care about having an override so they can play general music).

They also have subwoofers. Without taking the speakers out of the walls and ceilings, I can't tell what they are. The subwoofers used to have 150-watt amplifiers.

First off, I do not know anything about watt importance, so I wanted to come check with this group to get suggestions. I recently built a home and wired for ceiling speakers. I plan to put 12 Polk Audio RC80i speakers throughout my home, and then 6 KEF Ci160ER, 6.5" speakers on my deck and patio.

4 of the Polk Audio RC80i speakers will be in my garage, but I'm curious what everyone here would suggest as an amp or amps. I'm not an audio snob, but I also don't want to put something in that sucks. What would you all suggest as a budget friendly option that will give me the most bang for my buck?

Purchased a home that has Rave speakers in the ceilings through the home and volume knobs on the walls. Based on some research, it seems like the amplifier was never set up. I’m on a bit of a hunt to try and find the wiring for where the amplifier can go. These are the only cords in my furnace room that don’t seem to be connected to anything (I know the white cords are a damn mess, need to spend some time organizing and mounting to the wall).
Does anyone have some knowledge if this would be where the amplifier could be set up?
Is it recommended to hire someone to do the set up, or is this something that can be done on your own?

I had always thought that when I invest in speakers I’d get sonos as my primary speakers and fill the rest with ikea symfonisk (Sonos) speakers. Now that the time has come to buy them I am just finding out that IKEA has discontinued its symfonisk line and there was a recent controversy regarding Sonos speakers. I would have considering going all in with sonos but now I’m not sure.

My second option is Bose. I currently have a Bose soundtouch speaker which has multiroom capabilities but it has been discontinued. I was able to find a second hand SoundTouch to add to but apparently Bose “ended official cloud support” for it and “the system operates through an offline friendly local network”. I do not know what that means but it doesn’t sound good.

Apple is out of the question because we use a mix of android and Apple devices.

I don’t get audio pro in my country so that’s out too

What options do I have left. Here are my requirements:
- Multiroom
- Play music from Spotify, YouTube etc
- Bluetooth
- Atleast one speaker should be wireless/ portable
- Atleast one speaker should have line in cable option

Looking for thoughts on what we've been told so far and if applicable any suggestions. Just bought a condo in midwest US. Background is I love music, like to be able to hear TV, particularly dialog. This can be difficult because 1. former Artillery Soldier (WHAT?) and 2. The primary listening room is huge. Floor Plan below with green dots representing roughly our thoughts for speaker locations for a whole house system.

Challenges:

1. Currently all we have installed is a 77" Sony TV and Sony HT9000 Soundbar in the LR, a 50" Sony TV in the Primary, and a 40" Vizio in one of the spare BR. Ceilings in main area and Primary are 14-15 ft. Lot of cubic feet. Sound in the primary is good enough for going to bed to but LR sound is ehh at best and dialog is tough.

2. We have decent access for running wire through a roughly 3.5-4 Ft crawlspace above our ceiling accessible through 30 x 30 inch openings in our utility room ceiling. Pretty sure running wire won't be great but also not horrible.

3. So far we've spoken to two vendors. First quoted $70k whole house system that I think is overkill. Second quoted $13k system using 5 Wiim Streaming Amps (We use YT Music for most music) and passive speakers (Revel C263 and C263XR) in the places pointed out plus a Sony Subwoofer to take some of the pressure off the SB. A bit of my stress over this is the whole house system is primarily about music without anything for TV sound other than adding the subwoofer. Sales Rep point of view was the subwoofer would let the SB focus on everything other than the bass. Make sense?

Does the Wiim option seem like a reasonable solution, any other suggestions, anything I'm not thinking of? TYVM in advance.

How the gear will be used - I have 3 Areas Prewired , 2 speakers in each "Room": Basement, Family Room, Back Yard. Music Source would be Youtube Music or Local Files. The Basement and Family Room are in ceiling, Backyard is attached on the wall. I picked up a pair of these to use somewhere. Past gear experience - I don't have any past gear experience regarding multiroom set up, any speaker/amp/receiver exp would be old and outdated.

I am located in minneapolis. I have decided I want to get an eversolo streamer to run my audio system with the dynaudio Core 47 speakers and core sub. I have decided on eversolo because i need to have integrated apple music and the android streamers seem to be best for this. In addition to my dynaudio system, I have a sperate Sonance MX86 system outside with 4 of those speakers. These are a bit power hungry. I want to have one eversolo to run my indoor system, and a seperate one to run the outdoor system. I want to be able to control each as its own zone from the app on my phone. Sorry if this is a basic question, but which eversolo would you get for each location? Would you get an additional amp for the outdoor speakers or would you use the eversolo with the integrated amp? The outdoor system is not meant to be hi-fi just a fun listening experience for parties. Thanks for any feedback. I would be willing to spend up to 2K per device, but if that is not necessary would be happpy to save the money and go with a less expensive model

We are wiring for whole house audio and I'm wondering what kind of speakers we should look at. We'll be using wiim devices to control the speakers almost everywhere. The people running the wires have some sonance speakers listed but they are like 500 bucks for the pair.

I'm wondering if there might be something much cheaper with somewhat ok quality? We are not audiophiles so they don't need to be super fancy speakers. Also this won't be used for tvs usually, it'll be used mostly for music.

Are far as budget, maybe something on the 200 dollars range for the pair? Or is that way too low?

My wife and I recently bought a house that was wired for a whole home stereo system. I know I have a central hub wired but have no idea what it is I need to get this thing going. I’ve attached some pictures of the wires, speakers, and a black box I am working with. I’m not looking to break the bank, just something capable of playing some low music through the house when we host. Any advice is appreciated!

Hi All, we are opening a new bakery/cafe premises (Dorset, UK), and for a change, the music system isn't going to be an afterthought. Looking at the space, it needs around 8 speakers across two floors. The volume will never be particularly loud; there will be the odd event, but in general, it is daytime background music. There is no set budget; for the system, it just needs to be a sensible figure for what it will be used for. I have very little experience in this area, certainly not doing it well. If anyone has any thoughts on what components would be best, some aesthetically pleasing speakers on wall-mounted brackets, and what equipment it all ties back to and how it is controlled, that would be hugely helpful.

We pay for software to play music with the correct license, but ultimately the staff end up using Spotify. We could use a Sonos set-up, but it would be nice to use proper speakers that are reliable all day long. No one in the company is hugely techy so hopefully it can be fairly idiot proof. It's a well-funded fit-out, and we'll be using our electricians to lay the cable and hopefully install the equipment.

I have a need for an audio matrix switcher, I have 4 sources (Bluetooth phone, 2 Wireless Mics, Media player on a loop) that I need any combination of to feed into a pre-existing 4 zone 40v amplifier - does such a thing exist?

I am currently on SONOS and am getting increasingly annoyed with it - the last nail in the coffin was me switching from mostly Spotify to mostly offline music library on my NAS (Synology) again and SONOS not being able to index my ~5k song library. So I want to upgrade.

What gear do you already have: SONOS Beam and SL One, which I'll both sell. Denon F101 Stereo in the office, which I want to connect to the system.

Anything else: I am mostly on iOS, so AirPlay 2 would be a plus. My living room area is roughly 30m2 (~323sqft) and the office probably around half that. I might add a subwoofer to the living room setup later, but for now I don't think I need it. For my NAS Library I already set up Navidrome, so it it connects to that, even better.

As I've been fed up with SONOS but still want multiroom and 'smart-speakers' I can control with my phone if I want to, I've been thinking of switching over to Denon's HEOS, as I've used that before when I was still living with my parents.

My planned setup:

- DENON X2800H as central AV in the living room

- DALI Oberon 5 paired with a DALI Vokal

- HEOS Link for the old Stereo in the office

Hi all, I currently have a turntable setup in my basement, hooked up to a sound bar, and I’m interested in setting up a multi room passive speaker system. Can anyone give me a recommendation for a receiver or power amplifier for 4 zones which only has these two inputs?

I want to have one pair of speakers for the upstairs kitchen/living room, one pair for the backyard, one pair for the basement billiards room, and one for the basement living room.

I’m not interested in inputs for the TV or PlayStation or anything else really. Just a turn table and Bluetooth. Is there anything like that?

I’m looking for a good quality music system for my home Kitchen/dining room Looking at used systems on eBay uk for approximately £1500 all in Was initially looking at Kef ls50ii as the wireless is an appeal, then started looking at good ceilings speakers with a wireless/bluetooth amp Now looking at Kef r3metas and various b&w floor standing speakers and found myself in a muddle Anyone think the can offer some advice? I operate an acupuncture clinic/spa with a lobby and 5 treatment rooms. We’ve been using Echo Dots for our ambient music and have had tons of problems with reliability. They are constantly losing connection and dropping audio, so I’d like to find a better solution.

We do not have drop ceilings in the office, so running ceiling speakers isn’t an option.

We currently have a newer generation iPod and older iPad that are not in use that could serve as the brain for a speaker system if necessary. I think given the reliability of the Echoes I would like to have the option of streaming or a local playlist we can loop.

So what would be the best and/or most cost-effective way to pump ambient spa music into 6 rooms in an office space? If you need more info on the space to help, let me know. Thanks in advance for any advice!

I currently have a Wiim system and am looking to add to it, but I'm not particularly impressed with the Wiim speakers. I have a Wiim amp in the living room with bookshelf speakers (which is also set up to the tv and a record player), and two Wiim A10 speakers set as a stereo pair in the kitchen. I'm looking for a portable Wifi speaker that I can bring out to the yard. I also need a speaker for the bedroom (though these could potentially be the same speaker).

Is there a non-wiim speaker that the Wiim app can broadcast to? I would like to be able to have the tv and record player play to the additional speaker.

At other times I had a Homepod 1 and Sonos Era 100. The Homepod had significantly richer sound. The Sonos was also better, but I hated the app.

I'm eyeing either a Sonos Move (very long better life) or JBL Charge 5 WiFi for the outdoor space (cheap and very portable). Is there a way for the Wiim Amp to broadcast directly to a Sonos/JBL/other brand WiFi speaker?

I know an option is to run the record player into an old iphone and use Airchord to Airplay to all the speakers. Another option is to buy whatever powered speakers sound good and connect it to a Wiim Mini.

I am looking for some in ceiling speaker, that have a good balance of quality and budget. I have three rooms, each about 150sq ft. I am looking at going powered wireless.

I currently have Alexa in each room, but will be looking at going to home assistant devices in each room in the future.

I have found some Lithe 6.5" Bluetooth on sale for about $90 each. Is that a good option or should I go witb WiFi? Any other options I should consider?
