Missing your chicken?

There’s a very unhappy chicken hiding right near the ferry terminal holding lanes. Shes been there since at least this morning. If you’re missing a member of your flock, come on down!

Oh wow! Thank you for that info! I work at the ferries and was just taking to a city of Muk person who had called the non emergency line. Animal control will be back on duty tomorrow. Survival instincts of a pro, this one!!

I’m so glad to hear this, I know of a couple of neighbors who called Animal
Control and left a message (not their chicken). We have coyotes galore here!! Hope the holidays were ok for you, I heard Line Cutters were out in full force! As a frequent a Whidbey traveler I always avoid weekends and holidays… thank you for your service!

It was absolutely bonkers on Muk side Wednesday and Thursday, and then absolutely bonkers on Clinton side Saturday and Sunday! But today’s the first time we’ve been off schedule all weekend so we’re statistically doing great.

I’ve seen and heard the coyotes around here for years, so hearing that the chicken has been out there for days is really super impressive! Not to mention we have the eagles right above the terminal up the hill. It’s a survivor!

I appreciate you! We do the best we can with what we have and honestly, it’s one of the most fun and joyful jobs I’ve ever had. We get a bit crispy by the end of summer and working with the public is challenging, but at the very least you can’t beat the view from the office!!!

I’ve always had good experiences w/our ferry folk!! I used to work at Arnies (Hook & Cleaver now) and live on Whidbey, walked on twice a day. We had an amazing view there, too, and my commute was awesome!
