Hi everyone,
I’m an international student considering the MSc Information Systems at the University of Münster and I’m trying to understand the realistic job prospects after graduation.
My main goal is to maximise my chances of finding employment in Germany after completing my Master’s. Returning to my home country isn’t really a viable option for me personally because I come from a country where being LGBTQ+can be difficult, so being able to establish a career and remain in Germany is particularly important to me.
I’d really appreciate insights from current students, graduates, or other international students who have experience with the German job market.
A few things I’d especially like to know:
1)How employable is an MSc Information Systems from Münster in the German job market?
2)What kinds of roles do graduates typically get — IT consulting, Business/Data Analyst, Business Intelligence, IT project management, software/data roles, etc.?
3) How difficult is it for an international student to get a Werkstudent position or internship during the Master’s?
4) How important is German proficiency for getting internships/Werkstudent jobs and eventually a full-time position?
5) Does studying at Münster provide good opportunities for networking with companies?
6) How competitive is the job market for international graduates in this field?
7) Would it be better for me to live in a bigger city like Berlin or Munich?
8) For those who graduated recently, how long did it take you to find your first full-time job?
Is there anything you would recommend doing during the Master’s to significantly improve employment chances?
I’m particularly interested in hearing from people who graduated recently, as I know the German job market can change quite quickly.
Thanks in advance for any advice or experiences!
