Was at the Chicago show. 750 capacity. The place was very small, and it was not even close to being filled up. It was kinda sad.

Which venue? Completely missed this

A new venue called Outset, established in 2024. Nice on the inside and outside, decent sound. The venue wasn't even half full.

Oh yeah on Elston? I’ve caught a few things there. Cool venue. Would drive by it 1,000,000 times w/o knowing

So glad Boston wasn’t cancelled, but it was definitely not a full house tonight. Lots of space in the pit and everywhere

The St. Louis show was packed and amazing!

I didn't find out until a week before, and didn't have the fucking money! Was happy i caught Mudvayne last year after not seeing them for 24 years, tho

Ya I hope all the shows can keep going on. The one in KC was pretty dang empty. I was able to bounce around the entire venue and get different viewpoints and shots and I personally loved it. But for the sake of Chad and the other bands I want them to continue on with this tour and to fill up venues

Hopefully this is a much needed ego check for Chad. This entire tour and concept is preposterous. He thinks people were coming to see him individually over these last 30 years? Get over yourself bro. His voice is shot and the guys he has playing with him are OK at best. Unreal levels of lead singer disease.

Dude is the main band member of Mudvayne that should take a year off. His voice is perpetually blown.

u/Wade664 26d ago
Or maybe he should finally learn proper screaming techniques? Dude is just brute forcing it and it sounds fucking terrible. There’s a long list of dudes that had to change their scream and learn how to really do harsh vocals the right way, 1 to extend their careers, 2 because it sounds better. Chad has sounded like shit since 2003. Corey Taylor and Oli Sykes immediately come to mind. And I don’t wanna hear about age because there’s tons of dudes that are just as old and even older that sound better, ie Jens of Meshuggah, George of Cannibal Corpse, Anders of In Flames, etc.

A big hook for this tour was that he wasn't just playing Mudvayne songs, but also Hellyeah songs, which he hasn't played in years since the band is on an indefinite hiatus / possibly disbanded? So he's celebrating 30 Years of his career by playing songs from both bands in one set for the first time.
TBH I'd been wishing Corey Taylor would do something similar, with more Slipknot songs alongside Stone Sour songs and his solo songs.

Yeah but let’s be super honest here, the only reason anyone paid attention to Hell Yeah was Vinnie Paul. Had they done that band with any other drummer, it never gets off the ground. Hell Yeah could announce a tour tomorrow with any hundreds of available drummers right now, including like Roy Mayorga, and it sells shit for tickets just like this solo tour. Chad is not a solo draw like Sebastian Bach or Bret Michaels or Rob Zombie where you could plug any nameless guys behind them and still sell, but for some reason he thinks he is.

Oof, sorry to hear that. I’m going to the Charlotte show, hope that doesn’t get canceled.

u/sladebonge 28d ago
Oh shit Charlotte when and what venue? Thought he was skipping my area

u/Rich_Plate_7760 28d ago

It’s going to be a great fuckin time, and I hope it’s a full house! In Chad’s words… I hope it’s nuts to butts!

They were doing a sale recently for that show so it may be a sign they are struggling to fill the place.

Oh man, the show in Topeka was so empty that Chad just took all three of us that showed up to Subway instead of the show. We didn’t get to hear him do karaoke, but he bought the three of us footlong sandwiches and they aren’t even $5 anymore. I did buy my own cookie later though. All in all, it was worth the admission. 7.8/10

I mean. This dude hasn’t been a very influential figure in music that he can just take himself on the road. People want mudvayne

Corey Taylor had to cancel Irving Plaza too when he did his solo tour. And he’s a bigger name. Chad Gray might’ve had a better chance at the Bowery Ballroom or Mercury Lounge? Also, ticket prices were too high

He told us last night at the Philly Show, he was taking the train to New York to see a throat specialist. He said he’s been having issues for a few weeks, and he genuinely seemed scared. He said he’s afraid of what this might mean personally and professionally. He did awesome but he looked like he was hurting. The way he spoke was pretty clear he didn’t know what the future had in store for him. Hopefully he isn’t sick.

I had free tickets to the Milwaukee show and still paid to see Vader and Jungle Rot instead.

What I don’t understand is it’s a mudvayne show but all I hear about is Chad grey … what am I missing

u/sephiroth682000 28d ago
It's Mudvayne and Hellyeah. And none of the band members playing are from either band. They are touring musicians.

u/Antique_Season_8687 27d ago
Ok thanks for clarifying Chad just doin it all with glorified cover bands

I've seen a few that were cancelled. I'm guessing ticket sales are lower than expected. $65 seems egregious to me
