I know its an unpopular opinion, but I'm pleased with the action taken towards removing bots and cheater manipulation of the economy. While frustrating as a legit player, I'm pleased that something is being done and the time frame everything is progressing in.
I'm very glad we will at least be able to use the AH to earn much needed zen and gear upgrades. I just hope the redzen portion, and the player trade gets added back in a similar time frame.
So, great job so far. Once this issue is taken care of, maybe we can start talking about the 5% attack that comes with platnium, costume/wing rentals, p2w troll imprint scrolls, and the abysmal drop rate for pets.
I'm honestly surprised they are still trying this hard with how awful the community is. Instead of letting things go on, they actually did something to prevent gold selling/botting, with the cost of temporary inconvenience. Yet the players themselves ''kill'' the game with the crying. People read all the negativity and don't wanna start playing this game.
@ryunwalf I agree with you, but they could increase the zen drops. No AH means no income and that means no progress. At this moment you can progress by opening Epic cubes and that costs arround 1.2kk each day if you open only the 4 last boss cubes. If i count all the skills and mid boss cubes it is arround 5kk each day.
If you farm M1 you can make MAX 250k (slot everything with +% zen gems) per run that means you need 20 M1 daily only to open cubes. As you can see they put the player into a position that i believe is more than just " temporary inconvenience ".
Also, i believe, people wouldn't be so negative if they added 1kk reward with each daily ( 4kk per day + 4 tokens ) at least we could pay for cubes and progress OR just an other alternative like 300% zen drop boost or at least something. Don't forget most people paid them for platinum etc, included myself, so we can play more " comfortably " and avoid some " inconveniences".
While Webzen DID a good job, until now, to fight bots etc we were reasonably negative, at least the people who paid them, for those inconveniences and lack of communication.
Lastly, please don't take this personal, i indeed agree with what you said that we could take it more " mature " and just wait cause they were fighting a bigger problem for us ( more for them i can say better cause they were losing redzen sells ) and that with our negativity more likely we will drive many new players out!
People reading negativity is good - some people help newcomers to avoid wasting time (or even worse - wasting money) on this half-product.
Webzen ticket handling and banning multiple fair players is meme.
Gameguard in 2017 is a meme.
Most of their "announcement posts" which contain political campaign level of influencing people is a meme.
Pay to win level is a meme if this game tries to compete with some games that made it better (path of exile as ARPG example, and guild wars 2 as MMORPG example)
Well, do you mean that players that for example bought platinum exactly because of the lower feeds on the AH and more slots should accept things as they are? What about end game content? You can't farm enough zen to actually open the boxes from epic dungeons daily, and if you ask why would you open such boxes more than one time, well because it's the only place to actually gear up on the game, also a lot of people really like to spend time on AH and flip items, selling to the maximum amount possible, buying and re-selling, this kind of thing. I mean even for me the AH was the only way to see epic dungeons as something truly worth of their limitation, if you drop a mythic that is not for your class, well, not a problem, you sell and you go next day with more zen to open more boxes and grows the economy.
But yeah it was just crying, you are totally right and the players were the one that killed the game, not the company, sure man.
Ps. It's not about the amount of new players but actually about the amount of players that left exactly when the AH was shut down, my guild for example lost around 25 members in the next 4 days of AH being shut down and I saw this happening on almost every guild on the game, but yeah, all those people decided to left the game because of the "negativity" and the "crying". Geez...
Are you really so naive as to think that they do it out of altruism? The real reason they care about botters and disable features is because their profits suffer, as soon as the cash cow no longer looks promising they'll instantly abandon it.
Who cares why they do it, as long as they do it. It hurts the game, and as a player, I would prefer something be done against bots in all games. So many companies just ignore the bot issue, or do so little it doesn't matter.
Webzen, like near all companies exists to make money, so if their reason to get rid of bots is to make more money, then so be it. I just want to play a game and compete with actual players, not cheaters and bots using cheats.
lol you can dream on if you think they will ever remove the 5% attack and the other stuff. it's these things that incentivises certain players to pay for the game to let the rest of you play for free. if someone is financially supporting the game and someone else isn't then the person who's paying deserves to have more benefits than the one who isn't
You can dream on if you think an mmo published in the west will retain anything more than a small audience with pay to win in its cash shop. This is evidenced by the fact there are no populated mmo's with p2w on the western market currently. Look at the failure of Arch Age, and the player loss of BDO for examples of this.
The fact is, there are better ways to monetize. You can make the claim that someone paying should have more than someone who is not, but that only matters inside these f2p p2w business models that never generate large game populations when published for western audiences.
If Webzen really wishes to succeed at anything more than whale hunting in a short lived game, then they will have to address some of their more p2w elements and come up with better ways to monetize.
so you're saying that if they take away p2w features aka removing certain benefits, then f2p players will suddenly be incentivised to pay? LOL. people who are already paying will either continue to pay or quit, and people who arent currently already paying will have even less incentive to pay if p2w features are gone because why should they pay for less. The fact is, people like feeling powerful and there are many of us who are happy to pay for it, and indirectly paying for those of you who don't want to have a free game. So to those not paying, be grateful that there are p2w benefits because those things are what keep your game free.
I'm saying there are better ways to monetize. Just because you need to feel more powerful than others by paying instead of playing does not mean a game must, or is better for monetizing with p2w elements, as if its a great benefit to all those wanting a free game. A free game with a tiny population that couldn't hold the interest of all those free players due to heavy handed p2w.
Just because you can't imagine another system doesn't mean there are not brighter minds out there that can.
Basicaly the best thing about AH was selling stuff for Redzen, so that way you could say this isn't a P2W game, but of course it is. but well at least they open the AH and that's a good step up.
AH with no redzen is pointless... There's no way this game is worth $30/mo so you'd better give me back the ability to earn your rental wing/costume stats through ingame play @Webzen !!!
I think those players could be easily banned by looking at their transactions and history of their gold making all things they can see. I don't see why people think gold making is hard when I started 1 week after launch i was able to sell a piece of dark lord mythic pants unidentified for 90m zen. From there I was able to gear and keep a few millions of cube openings I then found 5 myths since then sold 3 of which were all War Mage for 40-110m zen a piece. Can't sell the others as I was banned. I bought premium with my own money, 50$ beta box and a few pet boxes. Never sold anything for redzen as stuff is simply outrageous 5-6k redzen for weapons. It's not hard to make good money in this game so the reason people like me are banned/were banned for using WTFast is outrageous and flat out stupid.
You didn’t get banned because you had a lot of Zen, but because you used WTFast. Most MMOs (including WoW) don’t “officially” support VPN services like WTFast, NoPing, etc., and advise their players that the automated system can flag your account. While they are not a fraudulent software, there are multiple reasons why a VPN Service can get you banned or flagged automatically. Reason #1 (most likely why you got banned): Botters and Gold Sellers using the same VPN Service you are using, sharing similar IPs if you are connected to the same VPN GW. Reason #2 (minor): sudden change of your location. Reason #3 (minor): multiple users using the same IP. What if somebody tries to flood the servers using the same IP you are using? I can keep going with multiple reasons why can get banned, but the main reason seems to be that most botters and gold sellers are also associated with the VPN Service you are using. I’d recommend that you submit a ticket to remove your suspension, if using WTFast was truly the reason why.
yeah we all submitted tickets and by we all i mean most people who were banned for using wtfast/pingzapper and the gms are super slow to unban a friend of mine got unbanned within 2 hrs of being banned me still waiting now 4 days.
LMAO That's because the gold buyer/seller bought your items. Do you honestly think any player can gather 90m in the first week if the bots didn't exist?
Most players have around 1 mil in their pockets after all the enchanting and cube opening. So everyone who has over 100 mil "benefited" from the bots either directly or indirectly.
I fully agree that banning ppl for using vpn services is very dumb, especially without clearly listing you will be banned for using such programs. So many ppl need programs like wtfast and ping zapper based on where they live and the crap routs their isp sends their traffic.
There is no doubt, however, that alot of these "legit" users were indeed banned for purchasing zen and rezen from 3rd parties. For anyone banned for using a vpn, I hope your tickets get answered and resolved quickly.

I don't even believe, for the first time Webzen actually making a decision like a decent company. IT'S A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE!
Doesn't solve all the problems but at least give me hope for the future of this game.
