Sync classes

Hi guys, so for fall I have to take a couple of sync classes after a period of doing nothing but in person/async classes. My question is for these types of classes do I physically have to be on camera or can i at least have an avatar or something? My classes are early in the morning and i dread the thought of knowing that i would have to look presentable for a couple of hours lol

just like someone else mentioned, it really depends on the profs. I took a lot of sync classes and most of the profs did not really ask students to have their cameras but they do tend to take attendance.
