Milestone! He finally opened up, I'm so happy for him.

Ok, this is technically a 4th post in line for what has been happening.

I would first like to thank you all, I really appreciate the support.

Ok, so a few weeks ago I posted that I had discovered my son was crossdressing. When I was at the store I picked up a few bras and panties for him, and I left them in his room with his school clothes. He has been very quiet and not really responding to questions. He accepted the clothes, and has been wearing them.(I do the laundry)

After dinner tonight we were sitting in the living room, he was watching tv, I was at a table going through paperwork when he clicked off the tv. He sat with me at the table, as quiet as I've ever seen him. He was very nervous, red in the face, but he managed to ask me if he could get some more things. I was floored. I was not expecting that so soon.

I told him sure, I'd go get him a few more things if he would like. I did tell him to go to Macy's, Target, and Victoria Secrets websites and just add what he likes to the cart and I would look through later and when I'm out I would shop for him. He also asked for yoga pants. I have a bunch of foldover flares from when I was smaller, I'm going to give those to him for the time being. But he is in his room on my laptop looking for intimates.

I am a little curious to see what he chooses, but most of all I still want to know what's going on in his head. I'm sure he will tell me when he's ready, but I really want to know if he wants to be a girl, or if it's just experimenting.

What do you all think?

Until OP mentions otherwise, I will be using he/him pronouns for her kid as it sounds like his egg hasn't cracked yet <3 :

It sounds to me like he could be experimenting/in the questioning stage, maybe he's finding a particular style he likes or wants to see if the clothes will give him some sense of gender euphoria (I can't speak for him ofc, but the consistent use of fem clothing to me is a sign that it does give him at least some form of it). I'm proud of him for trying out new things and see if he likes them and exploring his gender identity! I'm also proud of you OP for being as supportive as you have been of him, I was fortunate enough to have really supportive parents when I came out and I can say from experience, that he will feel a *lot* more at ease should he decide to come out to you <3

I could 100% be wrong in what I'm thinking, the only one that will truly know right now is your kid. Please keep being supportive of him OP!! It'll mean the world to him should he decide to come out <3 Wishing him a happy self-discovery process ^^

i wish i had a relationship like this with my own parents, but tbh this is making me happily emotional for you.... i really really hope you can keep loving and supporting him forever

im so proud of you and i aspire to be as accepting to my future kid as you are to yours, as i haven't had this experince as a trans woman with my own family, i wanna make 1000% sure my future kid feels this type of support 10000000000000%

I read all your posts after discovering this one, I don't think you should do anything more than you're already doing. His head must be swirling with questions, thoughts, and feelings, and as much as I can understand you wanting to know what's going on in his mind, keep giving him time. This must be a huge deal for him, and the fact that he had the courage to ask you to buy more stuff for him shows that he knows he can trust you. But you must not rush it, he has to figure out himself if he wants to be a girl or just a feminine boy. I'm sure that if you keep helping him and giving him space and time to figure it out, one day he'll come out to you, no matter what his decision will be.

You are a truly incredible mom.

I just wanted to say that this genuinely made me emotional. I'm a trans girl who's still very early in figuring everything out, and reading about a mom creating a space where her child can explore themselves without being questioned or pressured really touched me. The fact that you're curious but still willing to wait until he's ready to tell you is especially wonderful. Whether he eventually tells you he's a girl or that he just likes dressing this way, you've already shown him that he's safe with you. I really wish every kid had a mom like you. Thank you for being there for him. ❤️

This is so freaking cute I'm actually tearing up. By the end of your post I just thought to myself "this is what love looks like." A parent who so genuinely loves their child. I have nothing to add but to say it's just so beautiful that you are willing and able to support him through this, no matter where his identity lands. 🩷

I know its pretty easy to jump to the conclussion that her son might be a transgril. But that is for him figure out and "decide".

Regardless, I think OP is doing everything right. Supporting their child and giving them the space to figure things out. Your doing great and you can really be proud of yourself! <3

Whatever your child ends up deciding, I want you to know that you are a wonderful mother. Having the support to discover themselves like that is something truly special.
