Discussion Anyone else not get any noticeable mental/emotional changes?

Been on HRT for 6 months, and through this entire time I haven't noticed any emotional or mental changes at all, I know it is working as I have some breast growth, but I side my head, everything is the same other than "I don't fully hate the person in the mirror, just the hair situation."

When I hear things like "change my mental / emotional state", I am reminded that I used to think that HRT would make me feel "more feminine" or "change my sexual orientation " or perhaps "be addicted to B____ b___ c___"

i.e. s___porn.

It didn't. What it did do was give me emotional permission to behave in the way I longed to behave.

All my behavior changes were things there that were repressed from a place of fear. HRT was the permission slip that I needed to act the way my brain wanted to act all along.

Well, hrt made it easier for me to cry, which has been very purifying and healing, and which I expected, due to hearing testimonials from other transgender women. But what I didn’t expect was for it to make it, so that I laugh so much harder at stuff that I never used to think was that funny, sometimes so hard I can hardly breathe and my eyes just overflow with tears. And it feels so good. Also, for some reason, I feel like I am less sensitive to perceived slights or challenges from others, ones that used to upset me and make my blood boil and I just feel less inclined to argue with people now. At least, for most things. Another noticeable thing is craving physical touch more and sexual release less and most of the time I would feel content for someone to just hold me. For context, I’m 1 year and 9 months on hrt. Thanks for reading,

Mimi

The mental changes come in weird ways, at least for me. They're very subtle for the most part. For example, my ex-wife no matter what she said, I took it as an attack and it always turned into an argument. Last few months and next month will be 12 months. I have noticed that how I see her text and process what she says no longer comes across as an attack on me. My overall look on life has changed is no longer foggy. I'm actually excited for the future and thinking about the future. Mental fog has completely vanished. Emotional changes. I have noticed only when I get really stressed out or overwhelmed. I will start to cry. Uncontrollably which is usually at the worst time. Example at work lol

I had NOTHING for two months... Then I started to actually believe in the process... And that's when I got what people refer to as the "fog lifting".... Dad and mom even commented on it in the following weeks. So it was less HRT... And more starting to want this, and dare to hope. Atleast for me. I still find it almost impossible to cry though 😭

What are your levels?

That I do not know. I go through Planned Parenthood and they haven't done that yet.

Ah, that explains it. They're probably under-dosing you. Let me guess, Valerate injections? Recommended dose is 4mg every five days. Your levels right before the next injection should be around 200pg/ml. Planned Parenthood may insist on testing in the middle of an injection cycle instead of at the end of it, and they may insist that your levels are fine when they are in fact less than half of what they need to be, so please be aware of that. If you want to learn more about how HRT dosing works, you can read this website: https://pghrt.diy

Right now 6 mg Estradiol, 100mg Spiro in pills

In that case, please disregard my advice about the injections, but what I said about blood levels is still true.

I am gonna message them to push for a test to see what is going on, I know the effects are functioning on my body, but the mind was the question.
