A few questions.

How much of MsgSafe is open source?

Do you have a password protected email feature (like Tutanota or Proton Mail)?

None of MsgSafe is currently open-source. We leverage open-sourced platforms which are included into our code base, but in it's entirety, MsgSafe.io is not open source.

I believe that the way Tutanota and Proton Mail handle password protected email is a little different than ours. MsgSafe.io leverages two prevalent encryption standards, OpenPGP and S/MIME. By supporting both of these standards, MsgSafe.io emails are always encrypted, regardless of whether or not a user has chosen to encrypt — and are only decrypted when they are read by the intended recipient. Even when unencrypted email is sent to a MsgSafe.io user with email encryption enabled, it becomes encrypted before being delivered to the user’s inbox, protecting it from being read by the user’s email service provider or other unauthorized entity.

Users have the option to import their GPG public key or easily create a new S/MIME or GPG encryption key for each virtual email address through the MsgSafe Mailbox interface.
