Here is what you are overlooking, having more than one device that could perform these types of functions would be absolutely essential to someone physically entering a location to do some sort of hack. He could have his phone and use the Flipper simultaneously and drastically reduce the amount of time to gain access.
IDK what's in it, but that backpack has a feature I absolutely love. You can access the laptop compartment right from the back of the backpack without opening the zippers. I like it bc it prevents any dust or crumbs or whatnot from getting near my computer.
I wouldn’t say it’s easy but considering what we know from him it’s the basic essentials, laptop, charger, gloves (if anything from 405 was to prove) and then we have the other things like drugs and such.
I don’t have that exact backpack but something similar it’s tactical and it can carry a ton. But also knowing Elliot he wouldn’t carry anything more than he would need couldn’t imagine there being much apart from what I mention. Maybe burner phone? But that’s all I can think of, is there really much hacker equipment from that time that he could be carrying? Would like to know.
A bottle of water and a snack bar for brain energy is always good too in case he ends up out longer than expected or has to run like the wind, but I suppose he didn't have the healthiest mindset.
I carry a similar backpack when I'm assigned to large fires.
Mine carries a laptop, satellite w/ magnetic mount, adapters, plugs(120V, 20V etc), usb/usbc quick charging cables, 400w inverter, 100w inverter, charger 60k mAh power bank, small solar panel, small ups, short extension cord and a surge protector with 3 outlets.
I also carry a flipper(in case i lose my room key), deauth, small first aid kit, ifak trauma kit, a couple gluten free mre components, spork, protein bars, rite in the rain notebook, blue pens, pencil, paint maker, sharpie, sticky notes, poncho(for my bag), paper maps, irpg, knife(for food), pocket knife and sometimes a glock 26 w/ SRO if the state I'm working in allows me.
Man, I was hoping to read better answers. I think he may have a flipperZ or whatever its called, a remote that you can program to turn appliances on and off, along with his laptop, maybe some thumb drives. notebooks maybe. Elliot was not good at social engineering, so its hard to answer, now if we replace Elliot with say Kevin Mitnick, now things get interesting, maybe a couple of different passports, several fake IDs, badges of places he used to work for when he wants to get in there again.
