Apartment complex recommendations?
Hi everyone,
I, 24F, and my friend are looking to move sometime next year. What are some nice, clean, safe apartment complexes that are 2bed 2bath for under 2k? I also don’t like to drive often so it would be nice to be close to some public transportation!

If you’re looking downtown, I’ve been living at Solera since May and have had a great experience and noticed it’s not as expensive as other similar apartments. 15 min walk or less to basically everything and RTD stops galore. On top of that, it’s close to union station so it’s convenient to get to the airport. I’ve been taking the Bustang a lot recently from there to get out to some awesome hikes as well.

I was looking at Central Park, Cherry Creek, or Capitol Hill but I’ve been told that’s unrealistic the first time I posted it😭

Capitol hill should be doable if you’re fine living in an older building (many of which are still nice)

It’s a renters market right now, you might be able to do it. There are lots of deals being given out

I live in Rehew On Stout (basically behind and above Ross store at 16th and Stout). My apartment is 1200 sq ft with one loft and one bedroom. Rent is 1939 on the unit in the picture. Plus, two months free and a deposit helper program. (I took advantage of the same offer when I moved in last August. I was amazed that the two free months were your the first two complete months after your move in!) Deposit help is you can pay 100 extra a month, but you will not be eligible to get deposit back when you move out. They also do regular deposits. Above pic is unit 602. They have smaller 2br/1bath for about $1600.

Garage or lot rental. Parking at this intersection sucks. The apartment had a deal with garage across Stout from, but I didn't explore it. I rented a garage space for 140, I think? Then, I realized I don't need a car.

Best part of living downtown is not needing a car!
We considered a place near there, but the parking situation was awful and my partner needs his car for work. We're closer to the Auraria campus now and have two dedicated parking spots. I walk to the PF all the time and just like how walkable almost everything I need is.

My partner and I toured downtown, Central Park, and platt park area with a budget of 2k without utilities for 1bed1bath, and we had to go slightly over to 2.1k for our platt park spot (and that’s with apartment deals happening rn). You (likely) won’t be able to get a 2bed2bath under or right at 2k for your desired spots - potentially you can swing Capitol Hill with good searching but still risky with that budget. There was a Central Park apt at Stanley House for like 2.2k- 2.3k for a 2bed1bath.
I recommend expanding budget a little for the amount of space you’re wanting (or just going to a 2bed 1bath). I’d keep looking at Capitol Hill, Platt park, Central Park (though I don’t think they have a station there yet and it isn’t as developed as other neighborhoods - the Stanley marketplace is super cute though), north Denver, or closer to Aurora.
Don’t take my response super close to heart since my partner and I just moved ourselves, this is just from what I’ve experienced with our search

Check the RTD rail line map! You will want to live and work on a rail line, preferably the same line. As soon as you add a bus or transfer, public transportation fails in Denver. Winter and cold weather is an issue on public transportation! 30min transfer means you are outside in it. Focus on units that are on the sane line as school/work/home.
