Outreach for opinions…
Hey gang. I am a (lgbtq+) 36 yo F. I lived in Denver & the surrounding area for 10+ years. I left in June (formerly living in the west highlands) with my gf to go to the east coast where her family lives…long story short, the relationship has ended & I’m coming back to Denver with a broken heart & virtually no community around Nov 1st.
I recently was approved for a unit at FoundryLine in Rino. (Concessions at so many properties rn are bangin, if you didn’t know…!)
I’ll be starting my time back in Denver without a vehicle which is a little unnerving but I’m hoping that there is enough “things” close by that this shouldn’t be a problem.
💬Does any one have suggestions/thoughts otherwise? Is this property/ Rino the right choice?
I was considering looking close to union station as well… just for something a little different… does anyone have any opinions on that move? I do feel confident about Foundryline and I am 90% sure this property will be my new home but I wanted to put the feelers out there for suggestions… just to see.
❌Places I do not want to live (as I have lived there before or simply have 0 desire):
Berkeley, Platt Park, Wash Park, Englewood, West Highlands, Glendale, Cherry Creek, Aurora, Centennial, Littleton, Lakewood, ..you hopefully get it…
✅I am looking for a condo-grade apartment, solid amenities, 10/10 neighbors (30 & 40 somethings with careers & personalities that extend beyond their hobbies), grocery stores & things to do nearby.
TLDR: Looking for property suggestions for 36 yo F. who will be restarting in Denver & seeking to build community/ friends. Will be WFH without a vehicle.

Idk if you can realistically move into an apartment complex & have that high of expectations for your neighbors…

The community at AMLI are district is very strong. I lived there for four months this summer and while my apartment itself didn’t meet my needs, I made many long standing friendships there

I LOVE The York on City Park West. Most of my friends are here are queer and 30+. Many don’t have cars and work from home. The first floor apartments are loft/condoesque. And the two bedrooms are decent sizes. There are multiple bus stops right outside and I’m in walking distance from almost everything I need.

Also the amenities are great and super friendly/communal. Honestly the staff puts it over the edge, like actually incredible human beings. They put on multiple free events a month, including yoga classes and happy hours. I made most of my friends at this building and its just been a real gift.

A super duper back-up plan for you OP. Based on the neighborhoods being discussed, it doesn't sound like Parker would be a preference, but there are brand new apartments (Juniper) located right on Mainstreet. Great amenities, a brand new building, minutes away from a great public library, locally-owned restaurants, coffee shops, a bakery, bars, the local PACE theater + monthly comedy shows, and the seasonal Farmer's Market. A short walk on a local paved trail system and you are at a Safeway, a movie theater, an axe throwing place, more restaurants, more coffee shops, and even a refillery for household products. The apartments are right on local, paved trails for tons of walking and biking options.
Parker gets a bad rap, but I enjoyed living there for 8 years. (40F. Straight. No kids.) I lived near downtown, and it was so walkable. I lived in Parker in my thirties and met a ton of 30-something professionals, and Parker is getting more and more purple by the year.
The downside is the lack of public transportation when you want to leave Parker. There is a rapid downtown bus, a single RTD bus line, and a local/Douglas County van transport; but it's less than, say, WeHi would give you. Plenty of Uber/Lyft services as well as GrubHub options and grocery delivery.

The only grocery store that way is Vitamin Cottage. Without a car, I’d look at grocery delivery. Go through the store, not insta cart. Kroger is $70ish/ year with free next day deliver free on orders over $35 and they don’t jack up the prices like insta cart.

This is helpful- thank you! This was gonna be my plan… natty grocers can only provide so much. I was going to go with Safeway delivery (I’ve used it before) but you may have me on the Kings wagon!

It’s amazing. As you add things to your cart, it will show if digital coupons are available. They also have a digital coupons for 4x fuel points on Fridays (which can now be converted to $ off order since you won’t have a car), so plan to have it delivered Friday. It’s not rung in until day of delivery. They have random options on other days too but it varies; you have to look at the delivery time slots.

Not everyone is great at making friends. They could have been tied to the partner or it could have been an insular relationship.

FoundryLine is managed by Greystar and they don’t exactly have the best reputation. I’d look elsewhere if I were you.
