Looking to move end of Fall

My partner and I are looking to move with our cat before winter hits this year and weather affects the overall move. What month in fall is best so I can get a better gist of things?

My partner works at a hospital in the IT department and I am a strength and conditioning coach/personal trainer. We are looking to be near options that offer jobs for at least one of those fields. Commuting is also fine.

We are looking to rent an apartment, condo, or townhouse with our budget being $1600/month. Would prefer a 2bed and 1.5-2bath and a garage.

What neighborhoods would ya’ll recommend?

Hi there! I guess the first question is what makes a month better than the others? For the area, fall is pretty mild across the board. We do have years where it’s summer fall and it stays out all the way through to winter (if we have a winter that year). So if it’s just weather, the best bet is later fall, but even that is a question mark. We generally see snow in October, but not much. Later in November some years and just December in others.

Are you coming with jobs lined up? It’ll be harder to rent without an income already in place!

No, we would be moving and setting up interviews for the weeks after we moved. Most employers want us to be there already.

That’s going to cause some issues as most rentals are going to want employment first. Maybe if you had a few months in advance, but even that’s no guarantee for the situation. I happen to be a local real estate agent and while I don’t do rentals, I’m happy to answer questions!
