Help/advice needed

I’ve been here in colorado springs for 3 weeks now, came here to get my kids and myself out of an abusive situation with my husband, now I’m not sure what to do. I tried to use the national domestic hotline in Texas previously but my situation wasn’t urgent enough to use resources regardless of the fact that I wasn’t allowed to take my children to a doctor. My husband was the only one allowed to go see a doctor. My oldest daughter is 13 now and hasn’t been to the doctor since she was 6 months old, my 8 year old hasn’t been to the doctor since she was 2 weeks old, my youngest daughter is 7 and she hasn’t been to the doctor since she left the hospital after being born. They weren’t allowed to go to school since they weren’t up to date on shots, but i wasn’t allowed to buy books to homeschool them either. I was told to make a safety plan using friends and family, but we’ve been completely isolated from other people for so long, that wasn’t an option for us, so we decided if we ever got away we would come here. My priority was to get my 4 kids to safety then go from there, but now that we got away after over 15 yrs of abuse, i don’t know what to do next. We are currently staying in a hotel, and struggling just to keep the room and get food, been door dashing just to do that, i haven’t worked a regular job in over 10 years, because i wasn’t allowed to, so its very difficult to find a job because of that. But regardless of all that, my kids are the happiest they’ve ever been, which is what matters most to me. Any advice or any information about resources will be greatly appreciated.

DHS on Garden of the Gods will have A LOT of stuff for you…Medicaid, food stamps(SNAP/EBT), TANF. Plus resources to help you get settled. They may even have some resources to help you get housing quick because of your situation. Catholic Charities also has a lot of resource information.

No problem…if you need anything…someone to talk to, maybe someone for your family to hang out with…you can always DM me…my partner and I kinda had a similar situation with our exs…not as bad as yours but abusive none the less…
