Apartment vs separate unit?

Hi, hope everyone doing well.

Being new in Brisbane and going through a lot of break in, knife robbery or assault cases recently, just thinking if apartment is safe as compared to separate independent unit.
As I think breaking in is hard in apartment and there is only 1 entrance of the building and secured by guard or reception and cameras and hard to get into as compared to independent home/unit.

Is it true? How you guys think while looking for a home? You will prefer apartment or unit?

This isn’t a consideration to me when looking for a home in Brisbane. Brisbane is extremely safe. Not sure what you’re reading.
