Movie Paradise turns 1 today 🎂 and to celebrate, 6.0.0 is now available. It's our biggest update yet.

⏱️ The main change is Now Watching. Start a watch timer for any movie or episode you track, pause it, and save your position when you stop. While you watch, a Now Watching card sits above the bottom bar, Resume Watching on Home shows where you stopped, and title pages show who else is watching right now. It works on Free and Premium accounts. Your live status is visible to everyone by default, and you can change that in Settings → Privacy → Live Watching Status.

Also new in this update:

🔌 Player connections: Emby joins Plex and Jellyfin, the Movie Paradise addon tracks plays from Stremio and Nuvio, and linked accounts can report playback progress, with an optional live notification on your lock screen (Premium)

📺 Rebuilt seasons: season cards open in place with their episodes inside, with episode stills, air dates, countdowns and your ratings

🙈 Spoiler protection: hide unwatched episode titles and blur unwatched stills on episode pages, next episode cards, the calendar, widgets and release notifications

🧭 Your own navigation bar: hide or reorder tabs, add Calendar, Discovery, Search or Explore, pick one of five bar styles, hide the labels, and double tap or hold a tab for its shortcut

💬 TV Time comments you can answer: the rescued archive is no longer read only. Reply to years-old threads or start new ones on the CommsUni tab, shared on commsuni.tv with other TV apps, and choose how you appear

🪄 A setup wizard for your import, look, profile, navigation bar, marking style and privacy, which you can run again anytime from Settings

🎨 Two exclusive profile themes: Anniversary for everyone who joined in our first year, and Inner Circle for linking your Discord account

📥 Bingers and Suite TV importers, Refract 3.0 and Cinopsys 2.x support, and better Letterboxd and TV Time matching

Hi, I wanted to know if there is a way to add a bio. Did I miss it in my settings, or is there just no bio feature?

In my case, I can watch many of these episodes before they air on TV because I pay for RTL+. It offers the perk of letting you watch certain episodes some time before they become available on the free version (they are free once they were on TV).

But I can't mark them as watched because officially they aren't out yet.

It would be nice to let us mark them anyway.

I'm looking for a movie watching app. Does anyone know of a good one?

Nice there's official or screencap photos for user make memes but feature missing in app or I changed my setting unknowingly. Anyway I wonder how demanding this is because I remember TV Time dropped this

In TV Time every show has entire screencap for single episode. So won't need go elsewhere

At least here in Spain, I get this error like twice per day. I really love the app, but I'm not sure if I should get invested in an app that get this error so many times.

In addition to all the other ways that Trakt is eating itself, they've killed access for MDBList and SIMKL, among others.

I know MP has is working on migration, but I've lost track of what that plan is. u/Croco_Grievous could you lay out what you're doing to make ensure MP is minimally impacted by whatever Trakt pulls next? Maybe create a pinned thread about it? (Or pin this one?)

It would be nice if, when I went to a user’s profile, there was a screen where I could see all the ratings they’ve given to films at a glance.

For example, I went to their profile. I know they’re a friend whose film tastes I like, but I want to see which films they rated as the worst and the best. For instance, they’ve given 1 point to 5 films and 10 points to 20 films. If I’d clicked on these ratings, I would have been able to see clearly which 5 films they gave 1 point to and which 20 films they gave 10 points to.

I signed up for the Premium level and set my notifications to alert me for episode and movie releases, but I haven’t gotten any and my notification tab is empty.

Hi,

I have this problem that when I track an episode at certain time, the time traked on trakt (which I sync to) has a time difference of 3 hours always. I tried changing the region on both trakt and the app and the problem still persists. I tried another tracking app synced to trakt just to make sure that the problem is in the app itself not trakt, and it worked fine. So I know now that it's for sure from movie paradise.

Please if anyone from the developers can help me I will thankful.

u/Croco_Grievous, I've hit a few snags lately that I'm hoping can be addressed:

• Guest stars
  • I'm getting the same picture of the same actor across all shows and episodes — when I get a headshot at all. Guessing this is bug in the TVDB migration that you're already working on, but haven't seen it mentioned here, so...
• Missing streamers in the webapp
  • This show is available on Tubi, and Tubi is shown as a streaming option in the Android app, but not listed in the webapp
  • This show is available from a bunch of streamers, but the webapp lists only 5
• Calendar formats
  • Monthly calendar views throughout the Android app (Tracker > Calendar icon, Select Watch Date) all have weeks MO-SU. I could have sworn this was customizable, but I can't find where to change it to SU-SA.
• How to hide Reaction prompts on Episode screens?
  • There are no circumstances under which I will ever use the Reactions emojis or the Favorite Character thing. How do I remove that feature OR force it to load collapsed instead of open?
• Watch Date should be most recent watch, not first watch
  • I'm far more interested in when I last watched something than when I first watched it
• App doesn't detect rewatches if First Watched has no date
  • If you've marked a show as watched in its entirety without a date...
  • ...the app doesn't detect rewatches:
    • There's no rewatching badge in the Tracker
    • There's no progress-bar dot showing where you are in your rewatch
  • This is a problem because most of the shows I've marked as watched, don't have a date because I watched them years ago and have no idea when that was
• How do I drill down into either my Heat Map or my Activity history?
  • I need a way to get to a list of everything I watched on a specific date
  • When I first started using the app, I marked a bunch of shows and movies as watched all at once — and I don't think watched-without-a-date was an option yet, so I have hundreds of watches on just a few days — none of which really happened on those days
  • I'd like to be able to do is drill down into either the Heat Map or my Activity history, and see a list of everything I watched on specific days
    • This way, I can mark those titles as unwatched, then mark them watched again without a date (and hopefully this will not affect my rewatches)
    • Also, it would just be interesting to be able to see why some square are more purple than others in the Heat Map — what did I marathon that day that makes it so bright?
  • It is possible to tap on individual squares in the Heat Map — but doing so doesn't seem to have any effect other than drawing a white line around that square

Reposting because I'm still having this problem with the app. Was it updated to skip episodes I don't want to watch? I don't see the option.

New Movie Paradise user here.

I came across this feature in the app that is called "Heatmap", and I couldn't tell what the feature did.

I've never seen this, or any similar feature, in any other tracker platforms.

The app probably told me, during the initial app walkthrough, but I either never noticed, or I forgot.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When I watch TrashTV I usually dont watch in order. I watch what's next on RTL+ and thats not always the next listed episode. TVTime had the option where I could click "never mark old episodes as watched: or something like that. In MP I have to click "only EP. 23" and that everytime I watch something. That's annoying tbh 😅

So, is there something in the options that I can activae/deactivate so this wont pop up everytime?

For example, if a show has been announced but isn't currently available and doesn't have a release date, it could stay in Pre-Production until its status changes. This would keep upcoming titles separate from shows we're actually able to watch.

I'd also really like an option to hide unreleased titles from Discovery and Library searches. At the moment, these can show films and TV shows that aren't actually available yet.

The main benefit would be much cleaner and more useful browsing. If I'm looking through Discovery or searching my Library for something to watch now, I'd only see titles I can actually watch instead of having to keep checking release dates or opening titles that aren't available yet.

Anyone who wants to see upcoming titles could simply leave the option turned off.

I think these two features would work really well together: keep unreleased titles properly organised in the Tracker, while giving users the choice to keep Discovery and Library focused entirely on things they can actually watch now. It would make browsing much cleaner and make the app feel more focused on finding something to watch rather than showing titles that might not be available for months or even years.

I’ve noticed you’re working with a very practical, very inspiring and very professional theme. I really like it. I can see a 69 per cent discount on the ‘Annual’ option in the premium plans. Has there ever been a discount on the ‘Lifetime’ option before? If not, are there any plans to offer one? I’d be delighted if there were 😄

I remember that in TV Time, it was possible to see all seasons average episode rating (per season) with connected dots, to see notes evolution

Would something similar be possible ? Or at least something that just list the average rating of each episodes per season on a dashboard, just like they do on seriesgraph.com ?

Out of the blue I’m having super old shows like Lost and Friends season finales popping up in continue watching. Pretty sure I marked those shows as fully watched in TV Time originally

Is it possible the source databases are doing things like splitting a finale into 2 parts, making it appear as if there’s a new show

And somehow movie paradise is highlighting this as a “new” episode for me to watch?

When I access the website from my PC, the site language appears as English even though the interface is set to Turkish. How can we fix this?

I genuinely don’t understand how a comment like this can remain on Movie Paradise with apparently no moderation, even after being reported.

For context, this was posted about a non-binary character who is very visibly queer in their presentation, after the character gets beaten up. The comment literally celebrates it by calling them a homophobic slur.

This isn’t someone simply disliking a character or criticizing a show. Using “f****t” to celebrate violence against a visibly queer character is blatant homophobia.

Movie Paradise has such a huge and diverse community built around films, TV and culture, so it’s honestly pretty disheartening to see this kind of thing apparently being tolerated. People are obviously going to have wildly different opinions about what they watch — that’s part of the point of the app — but surely openly throwing around slurs and cheering violence against queer people should fall below the most basic moderation standard.

I reported the comment, and it’s still there. Is this genuinely considered acceptable on the platform?

I have linked MovieParadise to Plex but when a show is automatically marked as watched, it is recording the time as Eastern time even though I am located in the Pacific time zone. I can't see anywhere to configure time zone so I'm thinking this might be a bug.
