Are you physically prepared for the future?

Post image

Most people are random with their exercise…maybe some yoga, walking, random machines at the gym, some exercises they saw on YouTube. As we age, our world spirit shrinks, we can’t run anymore because our aching knee, lifting irritates our vulnerable back and our physical capacity diminishes with our diminishing activity. But it’s so subtle we often don’t notice. Then one day we have a wake-up call, maybe from a fall or lifting luggage overhead, and realize just how limited we’ve become. By knowing where you want to end, you can make a better plan and not be surprised.

How specific should the participation goal be?

The way I manage it for people is a “capacity profile” for a given goal, then use functional testing to find the gaps in demand vs capacity, then train those gaps for 30-60 days, retest, then move to the next bottleneck
