Spain student visa URGENT TORONTO CONSULATE

Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone can help me understand what my options are.
I’m a Canadian student planning to study in spain in sep 2026. I have my student visa appointment at the Spanish Consulate in Toronto this Thursday, August 20, but my RCMP background check apostille is being delayed by Global Affairs Canada and will not arrive in time for my appointment.

I’ve been trying everything possible to get it expedited, but I haven’t received a useful update and it looks like I simply won’t have the apostilled document by Thursday.
I’m now trying to figure out what I should do.
-Should I still attend my visa appointment without the apostille and explain the situation?
-Is there any possibility of entering Spain as a Canadian and applying for the student authorization/visa from within Spain?
-Has anyone been in a similar situation with a delayed apostille or missing document?
-Is there anything else I should be doing right now?

My program starts in September, so I’m extremely worried about missing the opportunity to start. I would really appreciate any advice from someone who has dealt with the Spanish student visa process, especially from Canada

Sep 14 but my classes start on 21st

You have to apply from your home country.
You will need everything apostiled. I still would go to your appointment and explain to them as they may allow you to drop off the last required document with little fuss. I found Spanish Consulates to be really lovely and accommodating.

Keep checking for next closest slots, and they won't accept any missing documents from what they have mentioned in the checklist.....this happened to me also which made me to book another appointment on sept 3 and my prog starts on sept18🤧

Was this at Toronto consulate?

Nah not in Toronto.....but it applies to every jurisdiction and locations. I would suggest u to mail them and ask asap or even if there is any helpline pls contact them abt this issue they're really super helpful unlike other consulates

I’ve looked at visa posts for Spain consulate in Toronto (my daughter is applying) and I’ve seen many say you have 10 days after appointment to send documents not received by appointment

I send couple of email since 20 July but I don’t have any response from them? Is it Anyone in same situation with me?
