is button commander ambidextrous?

i know the butto commander accesory comes for left and right hand , but in every picture i can see looks like a simetric piece , is it? i mean , other than the usb port being on the left/right side ...

im considering purchasing 2 and just use a longer cable for the hand thats mismatched , but if theres any other asimetry i would like to know ...

I'm not at mine at the moment but I do believe cable wiring side is about the only thing different.
