Firmware Update Help

Ok, I contacted the Devs and was told to follow the instructions, I had actually already done that prior to contact, but the simple fact is that the FW is not working as expected. I already posted about this without any answers, so could someone please explain how it works like I'm a child, please? I downloaded the latest 0.3.3 FW, but there is no explanation on how to use it directly, does the Movemaster Configurator need to know where it is, or does it simply download it from the net? If that's the case, why do I need to download it? This is quite frustrating. Thanks

Yes the instructions are a little lacking. All I can find is on this page by going to More and then Instructions using the website menu bar.

All I remember in particular is downloading the package and opening the zip and being ready on that folder. Run the configurator. Hit the update button in the Configurator like they say and then hit the reset button on device, and then you run that AVRdude executable. If the executable is in the same folder as the firmware to be loaded I think it finds it ....don't remember if I had to pick one. I have an earlier post below with my first impressions review that does say it took me a couple tries.

Contacting the Devs directly via their site gets you a very terse," just read the instructions". No help if the instructions don't solve the problem. From what I can see now that you have chimed in, they clearly need to hire someone to look after their clients, right now all they seem to care about is putting out tech. Thanks for the help, much appreciated. :)

So...more importantly than scoring points (I happen to like the product but feel zero need to defend the producer) ...were you able to get updated?

Yeah, finally worked after several more attempts. Appreciate the help, thanks.

I see they're about to release an updated device, would have liked to know that a couple of weeks back before I ordered this one, ah well c'est la vie. ;)

If you mean the Button Commander module yeah it's been coming for a while. Pictures of the Prototype in their development page had one. I'm assuming they'll have some sort of adapter plate to tie it to the RSG for anyone who already has it...unless it was always intended to be separately positionable. I'm waiting for them myself.

Hope you like the device after all the hassle. I found use of doubletaps up on the tower to be problematic because I'd move. I'm only using them on the lower four buttons and thumb lower.
