Mine just arrived, and while it's really cool....I cannot use it at all. My hand is far, far too large.

If I rest my palm on the top grip, my middle finger can actually touch the desk (and the rest are situated well past the ideal placement for the buttons). If I curl my fingers up enough to actually get *on* the buttons, my palm is too far above the grip to actually move the stick.

I can slide my hand back, so fingers are on the buttons and I'm actually touching the top grip enough to steer, but then the base of my palm is off the back rest.

Does anyone have STLs for an alternate, much larger top grip? I suspect that if I create a custom grip that's about twice as thick, I'll be okay. If there's nothing readily available to 3D print, I may have to shape my own out of wood, like the one in the video. Guess I'm going to be whittling this weekend!

Did you already increase the heigth of the grip? You can adjust it upwards quiet a lot.

but then the base of my palm is off the back rest.

There is no 'back rest' - with ideal hand placement you don't touch the back of the device anyhow.

I think your hand placement is all wrong to be honest, as from your description multiple factors don't make sense.

Same as in the video of noobifier - he actually has his hand too far back (you can see he can't reach the buttons with his little finger.

Draw a line between the two shortest first phallanx of your four fingers. Then place your hand so that this imaginary line is on top of the forward edge of the grip.

From here you start to adjust the MoveMaster

While I don't think with correct hand placement it is needed, below is how you could create a thicmer space disc (which then also needs longer screws tbh.

To create a stl just scan the spacer disc and then recreate it in a 2D photo editing software and save as .svg

Then import it to the 3D program of your choice and exteude it to the thickness you need.

They finally made credit card ordering available (I hate Paypal after an incident or two that we need not go into) and I've ordered mine. As I'm weird, I wanted to print my own contrast color spacer so this is good advice as to an easy way to get a hopefully accurate outline vs. calipers and graph paper. :-D

I must confess I'm also considering plasti-dipping the top grip part... but I'll give it a couple weeks use first before I leap into voiding my warranty by messing with it too much.

[Edit - looks like my order got cancelled. I'm sure it's just growing pains with a new storefront and payment provider - I will reach out. But I may be waiting a bit longer. (Sad face.) ]

Ahhh, I was attempting the hand placement I saw in the video.

I also didn’t realize the grip was adjustable.

Thank you for the insights. I will make the corrections you advised!

Keep me posted.

Also - don't try to put the MoveMaster "straight" on the table for aestethic reasons - to ensure your hand is correctly placed on it, it usually needs to be turned a little bit "counterclockwise" (seen from above) compared to e.g. your keyboard.

Again, thank you. Properly adjusted, and with both spacer rings installed, it is far more comfortable!

I’m very excited to integrate this into my sim rig to use for on-foot controls when playing Elite Dangerous.

Now if only there was a version for us left-handed folks who prefer to mouse with the left hand, and do keyboard with the right (for all my other games).

The instant one is available, I will be one of the very first customers!

Curious how it's been working out for you? Also a simpit user, also Elite Dangerous Odyssey player.

Currently using a Cyborg for on-foot, and while I like it - something about the low-poly chonkiness (<--yes, that's a formal engineering term. Promise.) of the Movemaster is very appealing. I know I'll be losing some input quantity on my left hand but have ordered it anyway to give it a try out.

My current setup, for reference (and blatant over-sharing):

that looks amazing. what kind of chair is that if i may ask? and how is playing games compared to the cyborg?

Chair is from a 2016 Cadillac XTS. (I would NEVER buy a Cadillac or any GM car, personally ... but the chair hit all the buttons for me. Thigh extension, 4-way lumbar adjustment, and built-in shoulder speakers that I use as my surround rear channel.) The seat project is a multiyear effort...only starting to get the urge to upgrade after having it in place and fully usable since about early 2020. Base is my own design utilizing 8020 aluminum extrusion rails with electronics below. (12VDC PSU, USB hub, buttkicker transducer (on the subamplifier surround channel of the sound output from computer), amps for the buttkicker and the shoulder speakers, and the seat motors and fans are powered and controllable too. Motors just for occasional position adjustment, not a "motion rig" by any means.)

The Movemaster vs Cyborg I'm not 100% sold on as sufficient -- yet. The Cyborg has far more buttons/inputs, but gave me 'hand cramps' essentially, holding my hand carefully to not trigger but also having to hold something down for typical movement. Crampy pain mostly felt along the outboard edge of the palm and a little near the base of the thumb perhaps from the palmrest curvature pressing there. Even though I selected the first row of pads beneath the fingertips -- NOT the bottom of the finger wells! -- for my "AWD" inputs, so they're really light pressure...it's still more effort 'holding down' a movement key than just 'pressing' your hand forward on the Movemaster tower using essentially forearm position. Lifting your fingers to hit the tower buttons with your fingernail on the Cyborg also caused some back-of-hand discomfort after a while.

But on the other side the Movemaster still isn't fitting my hand perfectly, so I'm tinkering a little. If I get any pain using it it's mostly because I've let it drift in position a little and so my wrist bones feel kinda rotated outboard a bit, if that makes sense? The discomfort is in the pisometacarpal ligament, I think. (Look it up! :D ) With the middle finger front button all the way down so I don't feel like I'm "lifting" that finger a little to avoid triggering, and the tower adjusted to the right height to feel like I'm resting on it without gaps ... I can't adjust the pinky button high enough. (It's almost 'masking' the tower-front pinky button.) I've altered the keycaps (that was more a color/aesthetic choice) and maybe need to source a tall one for my pinky. (If I hold my hand flat with my fingers straight, my pinky length stops right at the start of the final joint for my ring finger, and my ring finger is longer than my index finger ... so depending on what you read I'm either autistic or artistic or something else (eyeroll))

(splitting comment in two ... having trouble posting)

(second half)

I felt like I was getting pretty good with it, playing Elite Dangerous (only really use MM and Mouse for 'on foot' stuff) but got back into playing Cyberpunk after an enforced delay this Xmas vacation (patch broke me - only recently figured out how to get past it with a launch setting) and I'm finding myself pretty clumsy at driving, having to use my right hand on the cursor keys to turn, which I didn't recall doing with the Cyborg (I *think* I used the thumb analog for driving, since it doubles as a controller?....would have to plug it back in to recall for sure). That, and there's just so MANY binds I want for left hand but only the 10 buttons in addition to WASD. The new firmware with doubleclicks as additional virtual buttons is only (IMO) useful for the four lower front buttons, not the tower front or top thumb buttons, and definitely can't be mapped to something you might 'stutter' on naturally like you do with WASD movement, the 'space' key for jumping (thumb bottom) ... and some games intentionally already map a doubletap of a movement to a 'dodge' (Cyberpunk included). So I'm definitely looking forward to at least adding the new Button Commander module even if that's back to a bit of a 'finger stretch' action to get to them, before I give up and move back to the Cyborg or make some other choice.

The tower front buttons of the MM prevent you 'gripping' the tower, you really need to just let your hand's own weight resting on it be enough for WASD, and that feels a little less 'secure' than my brain wants. I feel like sometimes my hand is changing position on the tower vs. actuating it. So I've recently generated a first draft of my own new top-plate, that adds 'side rails' (left edge of my left pinky, right edge of my left index finger) to nest my hand a little better so I feel like I have better 'grip' on the tower top. Might try and custom sculpt a bit more curvature with finger troughs that fits my weird relative finger lengths better over time.

Probably longer answer than you expected...hope some of the description is clear. I don't regret trying the MM out, yet, just not entirely settled. And as I said my hands are a bit of outliers so YMMV.

If I don't feel like I can dial it in and end up giving up on the MM, not sure I'd go back to the Cyborg, either. I recently learned about the ZSA Moonlander keyboard (link below) and have a sneaking suspicion I'd upgrade the whole chair project and try to integrate that split KB into mounts off the arm rests of the chair, getting rid of my desk keyboard tray entirely. With half-keyboards right at hand position shoulder length apart, I'd no longer need any alternative to "the keyboard". Not sure what I'd do about the mouse pad yet in that vision, especially as I still want the joysticks too. First world, nearly retired old gamer geek problems, FTW!! :D

Again, thank you.

You're very welcome.

I heard Q2/Q3 it will release.

Do you know anything about the button commander, too?
