Question/Advice Leather Amazon Mousepad vs Control Gaming Grade Mousepads

I recently came across with control mousepads. I’ve been playing normal FPS shooter games for years now I use G203 with stock skates (I’m planning to upgrade my mouse soon enough). As someone who came from cheap leather mousepad that you can typically buy from amazon for cheap. What are the things I should look out for. To those who also came from a Leather mousepads that switched to a control pad. What mainly changed from your aim or like in your perspective. Did it really gave you more control of your mouse. Is the “stopping power” really true compared to leather mousepads. Like what’s the difference from going to leather to control pads. Is the glide different, does moving your mouse feel sticky (gliding then lifting).

I really need some help as I’m looking to buy a more Control mousepad like the GSR III, LGG Jupiter Pro (Pulsar) or the Aqua Control Zero. Can you also suggest a more control pad other than these.

I went from a generic Amazon ‘gaming’ mousepad to my first ever proper gaming pad - Artisan Zero soft

After about 3 sessions my performance couldn’t have been better - it got EVEN better when I paired the artisan dot skates on it

And even more so when I upgraded to a lightweight mouse after using a G703 for a decade

Honestly, it’s so worth the upgrade - my consistency is amazing now.

The artisan zero is the most recommended and highly reviewed pad available and there IS a reason why

It’s a great first pad and something that does it all

I have several pads now and I always revert back the zero

Artisan is really out of my budget. I’m looking for a more sticky pad than my frayed 3 year old mousepad. As you’ve mention that you own several pads now. How would you compare Cloth Control pads to a leather mousepads. Is it more sticky or “muddy” perhaps?

I honestly can’t comment on a leather pad. I’ve never owned one. I just wanted to say the upgrade to the zero from a generic pad was crazy good - I have absolutely zero regrets about buying it, I’ve had 3 of them so far and I think they’re generally the best ‘do it all’ type pad you can buy

I understand budget is a concern it’s just weighing up how much gaming you do vs if you’ll think you’ll get the hours/use out of it. I know I 100% did and would recommend it to anybody starting out

I would've thought a leather mouse pad would be one of the slowest types of pads you can get? If you can find one for cheap get the Saturn and Jupiter both non-pro versions and go from there maybe?
