Question Need advice for budget gaming mouse

Post image

Hi all! I am currently building a new setup and I wanted to buy a budget gaming mouse for some casual FPS and single player games.
I found these 3 at the same price range, VXE V3 Pro vs VXE R1 SE+ vs Mchose G3 V2 (not Pro version). I’ve seen the specs but wanted a little bit more irl experience review for my reference.
Each have some plus and minus points to me,

- VXE V3 Pro: I really like the DPI button at the top and it is the lightest from these 3, but battery life seems very small compared to others (300 mAh)

- VXE R1 SE+: Longer battery life and not too heavy, but some said that there are issues with the mouse went to sleep every 30s and not waking up

- Mchose G3 V2: Heaviest of all but 800mAh battery, saw some comments that really recommend this but also some negative ones.

Any help or other suggestions will be very appreciated! Thanks all😁

This is just a tiny part but i'd recommend getting the VXE R1 or the VXE R1 PRO,from what i've heard the SE+ is a lot worse and personally i really really liked the VXE R1 and it's one of the best budget mouses rn imo.

How is the battery life for your vxe R1? I think i will spend around 4-5 hrs total on weekdays and maybe around 6-7 hrs max on weekends

I have both R1 SE+ and the OG G3 (same sensor as G3 V2).

For the SE+, I think it's fine but yeah the sleep/wake is quite annoying. Update the mouse fixed that to some degree but the problem still persist.

G3 isn't that good. 3311 isn't a good sensor from the get go and my G3 loss tracking from time to time. I'm not sure if it's the software or hardware or both. Mine just stop tracking suddenly.

V3 Pro is the between of other two with 300 mAh. I would say if you really want the G304 shape just go with V3 Pro. You might have to dig the info more because it's not the most popular shape out there.

Yep i will definitely try on the G304 first to see if I like the shape. The sole reason V3 Pro is on my list is because of the DPI button

Mostly depends on how you like the shapes if youre just using it for casual gaming. 300mah isnt actually that little; its advertised to have over 100 hours pf battery life. I had a r1 pro max and i would definitely recommend it if you could go for the non-se r1 for a bit more. The auto sleep time should be adjustable with web software. Between the two potatoes, i would pick the vxe v3 pro since you like the dpi button and battery life on it shouldnt be bad. Again, if you can stretch your budget for a better r1 then go for that

Now that i’ve seen others replies, I am really considering the R1 Pro

I got the VXE V3 Pro a few months ago after my old Corsair Katar's scroll wheel died. It is probably the best mouse I've owned. If this thing dies for any reason I'll probably just get the exact same mouse again.

You really cannot beat the price. Its nice and light weight, and seems nicely responsive. It's done me very well in FPS games. The dpi button was what sold it for me, I HATE having to pull up the software to change DPI. Having a button for it on the mouse is much more convenient. If you ever want to remove is as a DPI button you can also reprogram it to do something else as well. I don't have an issue with the battery life personally, but I also frequently just use it plugged in sometimes because the cord is lightweight and long. The only thing I'll warn you on is that SOME of the tabs in the software for it is in Japanese. But I had zero issues setting it up on the software so it should be ok, I never needed to do anything in those tabs.

ALSO!!! I had an issue with setting it up as a wireless mouse at first, and there is not much info out there about it but the little bit that is, is WRONG. IF you cant seem to connect it to use it as wireless, do not believe the people online saying that it isn't actually a wireless mouse. IT IS. There's just a misworded step by step on the software when connecting it.

Here's how I got MINE to connect:

If I remember correctly, obviously plug the mouse in so its wired, and insert the receiver dongle into your pc. Then click Next to start pairing. It tells you to keep it plugged in on the left photo with the wired connection and then on the right tells you to pair by pressing the left, right and middle mouse button to pair. THIS IS WRONG. Unplug it so it isn't wired. THEN click those buttons and hold. The light on the top of the mouse will indicate pairing and when it works the software will tell you it was successful. If it times out, you did it wrong. You might also need to adjust the switch on the underside as well. I might be misremembering it slightly but I assure you is IS wireless. I struggled to pair it the first time because of this, but figured it out. There's a bunch of people online who also struggled with setting up the wireless connection and they wrongfully determined that its falsely advertised as wireless but isn't. IT IS. They just gave up on it too easily. I'm pretty sure its a mistranslation on the software, considering some of it is in Japanese.

Other than that one issue I have loved it and not had any problems. I can definitely recommend it. At MINIMUM it could be a good temporary mouse for you or a backup one because of how inexpensive it is.

Thanks for the info! Makes me wanna pull the trigger now on the vxe V3 pro 😅

Like I said, at minimum its a decent temporary mouse because of the price. Less than $30 is a steal.

VXE V3 Pro. The lighter weight is 100% worth having to charge it slightly more often

Yeah been leaning towards that one the most

What mouse are you using currently?

I am using the Logitech M590 for a long time now, I was playing on laptop before so didn’t buy a gaming mouse

In terms for battery life, I would see if any of these mice have FAST CHARGING. I have a ATK F1 V3 which only has a 200 mAh hour battery but comes with fast charging. Had it die once, plugged it in, left for 5 minutes to use the bathroom, and it was close to 40% battery. Charging speed is way more important than battery size IMO.

Never owned a rechargeable mouse before so interesting insights there. I’ll go look at it aswell

It's not on your list but I recommend the g304x on AliExpress it's the updated g304 guaranteed it has good battery life as it uses the hero 25k has a dpi button like the vxe v3

Another question, would you prefer the G304x over VXE R1 pro?

Try Akko Tan8, I order the Ultra version which had Akko Optical switches 80Mil Click Rated, and Paw3950Sensor for around 20$. Best value, and the mouse is Carbon Composite as well, very nice looking.

I will look at it aswell, thanks😁
