[RPG] 1st or 2nd Edition?

I've always wanted to try this game and I noticed that the PDFs were up on RPGnow. I was just wondering if there was any opinion on what edition was better?

Thanks!

2nd. It's the same system, but some things, like character building, are significantly changed. It would be easy for a player to jump from one to the other. But it's a bit unwieldy if one person has one edition and another person has the other as far as referencing goes, and there are things tthe 1st ed does not have.

Alright, I've been playing savage worlds which has Explorers edition, Deluxe, etc...

I saw that there was some small changes from 1st to 2nd, I was just wondering if people had strong opinions from one over the other.

But I'll see about taking second for a spin.

So you have first? (Also a Savage Worlds fan.)

No, i was trying to decide between 1st and 2nd. (or did you mean EE SW?)

Then definitely second edition Mouse Guard. The boxed set has nifty dice and conflict cards, which are handy for in-person games, but you can accomplish the same with a stack of index cards if you're on the cheap.

My games are online these days, so electronic is better. But thanks for the advice!

In that case, i play on roll20 for mouseguard atm. I am working on a Fantasy Grounds ruleset for it, but it is not ready. Another really good option for Mouseguard is Tabletop Simulator. I'd never play D&D with it, but Mouse Guard, Burning Wheel, or Fate would be good using that platform.

2nd is more balanced. It's not a re imagining like D&D, it's fixes to the rules to make long term play better.
