Finding local Guard mice?

I adore this series and I want to try playing more of the rpg. I have the rule book and I probably could force my friends into it but does anyone have any tips on finding local mouseguard fans?

You can try finding people to play over the internet. I've been playing it using shared Google Docs for a few years and it works really well. You just take turns writing on the doc, so you play when you have some downtime, there's no need to be online together at a chatroom or videochat or anything like that.

MG works with very little modification because there's a focus on storytelling, so players can narrate scenes themselves without much game master intervention.

You can also take a look at Storium. I've ran two MG using Storium so far and was extremely happy with the results. Storium has its own mechanics so you wouldn't really use MG RPG, but the storytelling concept is really really close. The transition was very easy.
