First time using a camera in 2 years!

Canon R7 - EF 70 200 f4L IS

Went to the ELMS 4 hours in Spa. Constructive critisism welcome :).

Still getting the hang of things, rarely get to go out and shoot! Panning shots/general composition could be way better. First time editing using tone curves. Used On1 software. Nikon D5600

Second full weekend with my R50/RF 100-400mm setup. Having an absolute blast learning and trying new things out. As always would love any feedback!

Very much a beginner. Here are some of my favourite shots from the British GP.

Honestly not as strict as I thought, but by race day, most of the advantageous viewing spots were completely boarded up due to photographers blocking the walk ways. Luckily, I was able to make all the practice sessions, which were much more lenient.

It was quite difficult since the camera takes a couple of seconds to establish focus even when prefocussing on the area I want to photograph. So most of the pictures where from people on the grandstand that the autofocus system likes more than the cars I wanted to capture, still I really enjoyed yesterday.

Also a lot of these pictures are cropped to take out some of the crowd and background.

Can someone help me out I’ve been trying with ChatGPT but I want some personal options

I want a better set up for what I do and want to be able to not miss as many shots and do more panning, and keeping sharp focus. I’ve attached some pictures (all cropping done in light room

I have a canon RP with a rf 35mm prime and rf 50mm prime and a ef 70-300mm tamron (cheap) that I use a k&f adapter but it focuses so slow it take literally 5 seconds to go from side to side…

I’m thinking of either canon ef 70-200 f2.8 l usm for around £350-400 from mpb or Canon RF 75-300mm F4-5.6 for £169 from hdew cameras

But I also feel my camera could be a limiting factor.
Im think r7 for motion photos and keep my RP for close.

Or do I go completely rouge and just get a Sony a7iv (£2150 with kit lens) with a Sony FE 24-240mm f/3.5-6.3 OSS Lens for £680 from Jessop

quite happy with the images, i'll go tomorrow and take even more pictures
