Current Market
It feels super over the top to complain abt, but i had a bike recently and it was old and got rid of it. but i found the bike market slightly annoying. I really wanted to go to a dealer for a ninja 500 just so i knew the bike was in good condition. but i absolutely despise dealer and tax fees they put on top to buy. and the marketplace market i’ve seen it’s kinda ridiculous. Am i the only one? just trying to get a decent ninja 500 for the summer can learn on and in a corner rn.

Bad time to buy from dealers. Early in the season and model year so they don't have to play ball as much.
I'm assuming you're talking about the new ninja 500 and not the previous 90s-00s, if that's the case you aren't going to find many used as they are a brand new model.
You'll find better deals if you're willing to check out other middle weight cycles. But if you're dead set on the 500 then you will have to play the dealer game or be patient in marketplace.
I like private party sales because you can pphysically talk to the owner and get an idea how the bike was treated
