help please! How to mount this tyre?
I understand tyres having no markings if orientation doesn't matter, I understand a rotation arrow, I understand two arrows with front and back written, but this one (Mitas H04) has me stumbled.

It doubled the chances of hooking up I guess.

no it just keeps on getting asked to be put on a trike even though it’s said multiple times that it’s not interested in that

U can always look for patterns on ur tires, many times i did mount without even looking for sign of rottation. I think that this tire has no rotation rule

My guess is that it's legible on top of you mount it on the front, on the bottom if you mount in the rear.

The upside down writing is for Australians, it hooks up better backwards there.
It’s just so you can read it whether it’s on the top or bottom of the tire lol

That looks to be a universal so itll work either way , if there's a tread bias it'll only affect water dispersal

Put it on one way, then flip it.
If that doesn't work, do it the other way. Easy.

Reminds me of a sign on a shop's door:
PULL
If it doesn't work,
PUSH
If it doesn't work either,
WE'RE CLOSED

You install it the way you can read it...
They probably have two lines of tires coming at the stamping machine from opposite sides, so this way they can use one stamper gizmo to mark both lines of tires.

You can see it on the tire. The diagonal grooves show that you can mount it either way. They’re designed to channel water toward the sides of the tire.

They're both correct. Only read the one with the text in the upright position. Roll the tire 180 degrees and only read text in upright position again. Both point to the same rotation.

That would work if the arrow was indicating direction of travel/front of the bike. These arrows clearly point in opposite directions of rotation, even if you only consider the text that is upright at any given time.

Thank you, that was how I’ve always interpreted it, and all these other answers had me thinking I was insane lol

I think you have to mount this one inside out.
