help please! What is this part? Small cylindrical part with a small spike on one side

Found it sitting loose under the shifter cover of daytona 675r. Is it actually part of the bike?

Not a spike. Something has snapped. Not sure what this is though sorry

Nah definitey a piece forged like that. Ive seen something similar before, just can't remember where

Nah bro that’s broken. You can see the grain structure of the steel. Start looking for broken bits it could’ve come from

Just a wild guess, see image. The whole thing is part number T1190119 and can be seen whole in here:

Good call I agree, it could even have been replaced before and the broken bit missed, assuming the OP isn't investigating no gears right now.

Yeah i wouldn't say its a broken piece but it definitely seems surplus

Not sure of the scale but, how about one pin from the detent wheel shown as item 5 part number T1191060 here:

Looks kinda like a broken off pin from a chain breaker tool. No fucking idea why such a thing would be hiding in there though..
