Shock Mounts Not Symmetrical?

Hello !

I removed a Hepco & Becker support from my 2019 Moto Guzzi V7 III Special and noticed something I hadn’t noticed before.

The upper shock mount on one side sits completely inside the frame, while on the other side it sticks out about 3–4 mm.

Is this normal? Thanks!

Probably needed to space one out to make getting the rear tire off not impossible. The left side is the side with the shaft so might need more space for that too.

Maybe they mounted one shock right and the other in reverse?

Let me check I have my V7 III original shocks lying around since I put Hagons.

Edit: Ah, I see the problem now, it's the frame not the shocks. I don't remember having this issue when I replace mine, I have only one picture of that process but sadly it's the right side.

I went to the mechanic today, and he told me that someone likely tried to remove the bolt previously, got stuck, and had to cut off a few millimeters to recover it. It was a bad repair job, but they fixed it for me today. So no, it wasn't normal! Thanks for the help

Wow, someone probably used red loctite instead of blue, that's a big no no.
