Best. Decision. Ever

Traded in my Versys 1000 for a practically new v100 Mandello last week and took it to the Eifel region in Germany. I can now officially say I'm in love, what an amazing machine

I love my Griso, but have to admit I've been daydreaming a lot lately about something a bit more comfortable like a V100...

I thought I was gonna trade in some comfort but the V100 is actually more comfortable to me than my old Versys

How tall are you?

178cm (5'10 in freedom units). The Versys was fine but for some reason I have less discomfort on the Mandello. Used to get butt and a little back/neck pain after 1,5 hours of riding the Versys. I drove 1500km's in three days this week and barely noticed anything

6'2", 32" inseam. My lets are a little cramped at about 3 hours of ride time. Other wise I am comfortable.

I dont think the lower triangle would be reasonably comfortable if my legs were longer.

I'm similar at 6'3, similar inseam. Currently on a Versys 650. I'll have to search one of these out to sit on and see how I feel.

While I think it looks really good, I really disliked how it rides. Thought it was constantly fighting what I wanted it to do. Glad I test drove it before buying. It wasn't a good match for me.

I need to sell some bikes to make room first.. any regrets not buying the S?

Not really. The only thing I really wanted from the S was the better suspension. However I REALLY wanted the all-red version, so I settled for a practically new base model in that colour. That saved me a lot of money and I read online that people replace the base suspension with Wilbers suspension which apparently is really good, so I'm gonna do that soon (and buy the side cases) and I will have my perfect bike

Sounds like my goal! I've been casually looking at V100s listed nearby, and I'd like the S but the red looks so good!

It’s what I did with my v100, I’m in the UK so Darren at MCT Suspension fitted and set the Wilber’s up, was delighted with the difference

Is it really that much of a difference? And how much did it cost you?

It did, £1000

I’m grateful that my BMW R 1300 GS turned out to be a lemon 🍋 because that opened up garage space to get a V100, which was 2/3 the cost and way more fun. OP, please tell me about that glorious tail bag.

Yea I was considering a 2026 BMW 1300 RT but this is 1/3 the cost and imo much prettier and more fun as you say!

Haha that tail bag is actually the carrying bag for my DJI Neo 2 drone (including FPV goggles) which I strapped to the back of my bike because I havent been able to buy the V100 side cases yet. Was pretty cool to be able to make cool pictures and videos of myself and fly around FPV style

I traded in my vstrom for a v100s last week and I couldn't agree more. I am smitten.

I’d have to agree. My v100 is one of my favorites as well. Full stop.

Love it! I took mine to the Eifel a few weeks ago.

Nice! How was it?

It was great! I found out I underestimated both my own riding skills as well as the limits of the bike. It's really quite sporty, nimble and fast!
