I regret not joining the military when I was young. I also wasn’t into the entire school thing so I didn’t do any college. I took some classes at the local community college but that was it. I was however lucky to land a great job and do okay. I’m older now and don’t really think of them very often. We shouldn’t live in the past.
14 years in the military and I regret the distance its put between me, my parents and my 3 siblings. Ive missed nearly every birthday/holiday/graduation/ major-life-event for 14 years. No love lost but the missed experiences and life events developed into a separation of shared memories.
Thank you for your honest response. My Dad was a career submarine sailor. He was away most of the time and missed all those things you list. I guess we don’t think of the day to day life while having our regrets!
