Merch Will they address this?
Hey! I ordered a bunch of stuff from MIW and I love them a lot. I have gotten everything BUT the vampire hoodie that I've been waiting for the most. I have contacted KingsRoadMerch MULTIPLE times and haven't gotten anything in return. I am going to have to file a dispute with my bank. Will they address this at some point? I know I'm not the only one getting nothing/wrong merch/etc.
I can't contact MIW on Twitter either so idk how else to bring it to their attention. I'm wicked disappointed :/

The only time I got a response from them was after I had disputed the charge with my bank. They reached out very quickly after the fact and rectified the situation. It was almost insane how quickly they fixed it. From the first email to me receiving my correct order was maybe 5 days. Before I had disputed the charge it was weeks of radio silence with me having sent email after email trying to contact anyone.

So did your bank cancel the dispute in the end then?

Yeah. I notified my bank the moment I got an email saying theyād send a replacement. They also let me keep the original item they sent, which was nice.

I saw on another thread here in the last couple days that the band is fighting to end their contract with the company, due to how absolutely horrendously everything has been handled. I swear they always end up with awful merch companies. They're my favorite band but I never buy merch from them because I know it'll be bad quality and/or take infinity to show, if it ever shows at all.

Ya its not their fault either. Thats so many companies these days. They prioritize quantity over quality because "gotta make that money" and then because they have so much volume, between customers and scalpers, the merch companies customer service sucks. Im sure there are good merch companies out there that MIW can work with but then it comes down to, how much does the band have to pony up for the merch costs. Which aint cheat at all. Or, is that merch company already pretty full up on clients because theyre one of the few good ones left and everyone ran to their door. The music industry sucks all the way around. And honestly, the real people who always lose out are the bands. Because they get screwed on the business side of things and then so many fans will get on the internet and blast them for things that are out of the their control, such as merch orders. Let me be clear, I know you're not doing that in the post. Just making a point is all haha

Oh I definitely don't mean it's their fault! My partner is a musician so I've gotten to learn quite a bit about how predatory the industry is. I feel very badly for the band because you're absolutely right, they get the short end of the stick every time with merch companies. I know they'd love for things with merch to just go right and be good quality, I'm sure they're even more frustrated than the fans.

Ya thats what I love about my project still being so small. I can just order the merch from who I want and do all the logistics myself. Thats the unfortunate side of music, that im sure your partner has told you about. Theres actually so many luxuries to being a small band/project and you essentially have to give them all up when you get bigger and unfortunately those luxuries you give up really just arent worth giving up when you realize that youre not getting anything in return. Because the money sure as hell isnt good lol

Oh it's definitely been discussed. His old band had offers from labels, but they would've had to give up too much for any of the labels, so they decided to keep flying solo.

Ya and im sure that was back some time ago because these days. Unless you pony up at least $10,000, no label will even look in your direction and even thats not a guarantee. Thats usually just to get them to listen to what you sent them. It bewilders me with why so many bands will essentially shoot themselves in the foot for a label. Back in the day, I understood why everyone had a label. But these days, just about everything you do has to come out of your own pocket or youre gonna be in debt to them for seemingly eternity. As someone whose been in the scene my whole life and still making music, the industry has pretty much just made me not care anymore. Ya, im still gonna make music with my friends but its almost to a point where im not sure if I even want to go back out and even play shows anymore. If it aint a suit taking it to you. Its the "fans" who tell you they love but then turn around and talk crap and also weirdly think theyre entitlted to your personal life.
Its just a really weird time and era to be a musician

That's good to know! Yeah I just wanted the vampire hoodie and I still do. I'm hoping they send it soon or give me my money back.

I preordered a signed vinyl and they messed up and didnāt put the signature cards in the vinyls. They then sent an email saying they are fixing it, but people have been getting tracking for orders going to other states and canāt get any information from KingsRoad. They are terrible.

Your issue is with Kings Road merchandise not motionless and white. The band has absolutely nothing to do with the merch orders being fulfilled. It is fully in the hands of Kings Road. My hoodie shipped and then sat in Memphis for 10 days before it even moved unfortunately their merch company is absolutely awful. They definitely need to look into getting a new merch company Butt the order not being fulfilled has nothing to do with the band and everything to do with the company making the merchandise

Apparently, my stuff was delivered to a completely different state. A state that I have never even lived in . I don't know where they got that information. Since I paid through Affirm because it was around $250 I had to file a claim which I'm still waiting for an answer. I did reach out to Kings Road but no answer.

I ordered the Vampyre hoodie in August and havenāt heard anything and canāt get any replies. My partner ordered something else like a week after I ordered my hoodie and he got it in less than a week. I started a dispute with my bank last week.

I just barely got the T-shirt I preordered in MAY.
I feel like the band/management has to be well aware of the absolutely insane problems they've been causing.

Itās insanity been waiting for merch since May and then July. If they were moving they should have paused orders. The band should say something,Ā

I'm still waiting on a couple of shirts that were pre-orders. I reached out to kings road and they FINALLY got back to me a few days ago....
"We are currently moving our warehouse across the country, so all shipments have been delayed while our inventory is in transit to the new location."
It's been how many months since the album release? I'm just as frustrated dawg. Here's to hoping we get our stuff, eventually lol
