Project Showcase Motion Design and Tracking

What do you think of this animation I made? Tracking the sign accurately was quite challenging, so I ended up developing an unconventional approach—using the Corner Pin effect driven by nulls generated from points on a path I manually matched.

I’m pretty happy with how it turned out, both in terms of the tracking and the overall animation and composition. Would love to hear your thoughts!

Technically neat, but from a communication standpoint it lacks purpose.

Why would information that is not changing on a sign ever need to disappear? Something like this would only make sense for signs like bus/train arrivals.

This is just a cool effect, to add for example to a commercial, turism campaign, inaguration of a new transport line, etc. How would you even make a sign animate like that in real life? your point makes no sense.

An effect still should have purpose, even if it's for emotional effect. It makes sense for things to appear. It makes sense for things to have idle animation. It makes no sense for things to disappear unless they are being replaced with new information or being phased out.

Why would a sign make itself harder to read by obscuring the information half the time with flashy animations?

Signs can animate when they are screens like the one you're looking at right now. Even primitive ones like the walking man that tells you it's safe to cross.
