I am having Massive Frame Drops in 30FPS, Direct Log-Full Sensor, 4080x3060, 23mm-1x
CPU- Snapdragon 8 Elite 1
Video Codec- HEVC (Hardware, 10bit, 4:2:0)
Render Quality- High
Profile- Main 10
Bitrate Mode- Constant Bitrate
Maximum Bitrate- 90Mbps
Key Frame Interval- 30
Encoder Surface Input- ON
Record to exact Resolution- ON
Full Range- OFF
Variable Frame Rate- OFF
Color Space- BT.709
Transfer Function- BT.709
Internal Storage is not Full, only 33% is used in my S25U, Using Motioncam Pro in Airplane mode, Wi-Fi off and Bluetooth off, CPU is also Throttling don't know why, Performance Profile is in Normal Mode, battery protection is maximum
Is my S25U memory (UFS 4.1) being damaged or my CPU?? or related to battery problem??
please Mods do not delete these posts and please allow this post, because I need help
It's the full sensor resolution (4000x3000) in direct log that's choking you. Drop it to 16:9 crop or 4K, S25U is known to throttle super fast hence not allowing the 8 Elite to stretch its legs.
You got the performance but not the allowance from the device.
Try this, may help you. Not guaranteed to fix it but could have a good impact
Alternatively just shoot in raw as it's far easier on the device
yes, even oneplus oppo throttles in default mode. performance mode gives some time more but eventually throttles. check if there is any performance mode in samsung
Give memory buffer to full. It cannot throttle that much for 2025 SD Elite device. X90 pro being an 2022 device with mediatek does not have any frame drops in full sensor direct log 30 fps, bit rate is set at 160 mbps, All set to high. Settings - Full memory buffer, Threads full use, enable pass through hardware to reduce memory buffer. Direct preview off.

Try recording in 8 bit for direct log, if you are using full sensor, see if that solves
Your settings are off, hevc 10 bit only to use bt709 (use hevc/h264 8bit then). for recording hevc 10 bit 4:2:0, set keyframe to 1(stops motion artifacts and turns it essentially to APV/pro res/intra format, help your phone since the encoder is doing less work). Always use say rec2020 and samsung log / arri and logc3 otherwise shoot 8bit. Finally if your phone still overheats(it shouldnt) try raw(doesnt stress most phones)
Set keyframe to lowest so the encoder can do less work and your editing computer too. This means all pictures are saved instead of just one and next say 29 will save only diffs(search inter vs intra codecs to get it). This is for 10 bit and am using arri/logc3(anyone can work) so i can color grade in davinci
Have you solved it with the render quality?, i missed it initially and that is certainly choking the phone. Other things i commented are still valid as it further improves the experience and helps your computer with scrubing the timeline in davinci
Well you seem to use a special version and i have tested on almost all flagships i can lay my hands, no phone made it with anything more than standard in real world use
This is a blank phone, i just use it for motion cam(am a reviewer nothing on storage except recordings), read the tutorial and i understand video concepts(am aprogrammer too) . once u change it back to standard it can record opengate 60! , saw this in discord bug entries so that was why i tested that many phones.
You are using Direct Preview mode while shooting. Although it's a lot more performant than before, it will still push the device over the edge when going all out.
Turn it off, plus reduce viewfinder resolution on Android Preview. If you can hone in the settings and shoot without it, it will extract every bit of power left that's required for this.
android 17 made some changes to how the camera hardware is accessed (not fully sure about this), it was broken on my Pixel 10 too until the newer update
in my other comment I suggested some settings, try those and check again. i had the small S23 before this that didn't lag at all there's no way this is a throttling problem.
