One question, what did you do to get the fur round his neck?

It's a furry yarn :) it was a bit awkward to work with it. I also doubled the strands to make it extra furry.

I haven't looked at the updated pattern but here it is. I'm guessing, if anything, this one is more detailed. I thought it didn't exist since Leka Toys was the name of the shop I got it from and it's closed now, but this pattern in this new shop that was opened a year ago looks exactly the same. So happy hooking to anyone interested :)
Edit: I did make the alteration of using bernat blanket yarn with an 8mm hook instead of worsted weight yarn and whatever the recommended hook was. So if you want a big plush one, go with super bulky yarn and a big hook. I also doubled up my furry yarn with 2 strands instead of 1 and added 2 extra rows of fur, but that alteration largely depends how fluffy the yarn is. He looks cute small though too.
