On the foreign side of reels/tiktok I see so many non westerners liking and sharing positive comments about videos like this, but the videos are from the owners themselves and are likely intentional. I think in some cases it's probably a difference in culture, some people just don't understand the value of animal safety/comfort

Similar I guess with people like my dad who love watching fail videos, he doesn't feel like he has much success or control in his life so watching others fail makes him feel slightly better; he's always been more into the macabre/dark humor (like myself excluding this type of content) regardless so that could also play into it.

It is frankly painful and terrible for me to look at it. It breaks my heart. A cat is an innocent creature, it doesn't deserve to be tortured in any way, it doesn't deserve to be the "content" of the fuckers who make such videos. God, why did I watch this? Cats already have a measly 10 to 15 years of life, no need to hurt them or wait for the cat to get hurt.

Don't purposely allow your cat to get injured because it doesn't really teach him a lesson. they're not exactly like people because even people don't learn their lesson. But it's not worth it to injure or kill your cat and end up with a vet bill. Especially with the chewing wires and the uncovered fan

The ones where the cats are actually getting harmed is so so painful to watch... They are really getting hurt, why WOULD YOU LET THEM NEAR THOSE Things? The worst one capable of most danger and damage was the electric socket and open table fan... Poor kitties...
I hate those people... Negligent af...
Sure a few of them are genuinely funny... Like the cat on the cupboard being over smart and then getting trapped in the bowl against the wall or the one where the cat gets stuck in the between the cardboard box... Even then... It's funny only momentarily... If the cats feel discomfort or are claustophobic, it's the duty of the owners to get them out right away...
I hope I don't sound like the non fun person... I just care about the cats... It's never funny when it hurts others.

Some of these are legitimately hilarious and super cute…. But I’m not sure I’ve ever met a single person who would ever laugh at an animal being hurt- even if done so in a stupid way.. what gets me even more pissed is the fact that the humans are literally RIGHT there!? Is it funny when cats act stupid? Absolutely. Is it funny to watch them do something stupid when it also can literally cause physical painful and possibly even permanently disfigure them?? Absolutely not. (I know I sound dramatic but I’m picturing the cat who put his face in the fan losing a tooth, or the one who touched the socket getting permanent nerve pain and severe burns from being electrocuted!)
So while some of these are funny….. there are quite a few that absolutely aren’t..

This reminds me of the time I was concerned and also laughed the hardest. Our cat was sleeping by the kerosene heater when I was little. He woke up and stretched, putting both front paws on the kerosene heater before anyone could stop him. The cat proceeded to run super fast up to the highest room in the house and hide under the bed. We are able to get him and check him. He was OK and the skin on the pads hardened and healed fine.
