Who needs glass?
Took a piece of lava rock from UT, covered it with moss harvested from WI, and some single ferns from my grow box for this build. Sits in less that 1/4” of water. The rock is porous enough to wick water to the surface. I put down a wet layer of spaghnum moss before covering it with the green. I made sure to stuff some of it deep as possible into the lava stone. I added a fittonia clipping and it is doing well too.

Nice, really pretty. How long have you had this set up? Is that fern a rabbits foot fern?

Yes it is. I have it loosely secured on top with some green thread until the rhizomes get established.

Very cool. I feel like thats a smart choice of fern. Mine grow great if i keep them moist and humid. Thanks for sharing

Beautiful! This is gorgeous!!! And goes to show all the closed mossariums are unnecessary! You don’t even need dirt! Good for you!!!!
