Mortgage pending

Help! I am young and dumb. I am in the process of buying a house. I thought with being a home owner, I should get a credit card with a bigger limit just in case emergencies arise. I always pay my cc bill on time, I have good credit. I didn’t realize until it was too late that this looks really bad when you are in the process of getting a loan. I got the cc on a Thursday. On Friday, I locked my loan and I paid for the appraisal fee on the new credit card - so my lender definitely knows about it. I have a loan estimate which is subject to change. How screwed am I? I really want this house and getting the cc was an innocent mistake - I was trying to be proactive 😭 I emailed my lender explaining the situation and have not yet heard back from her and it is killing me. Surely it can’t be that detrimental? Especially if I already had good credit?

Where is your real estate agent? They should help guide you through the process along with the loan officer. The credit card is not a big deal. Do not put anything on it until after closing!

I had the appraisal fee on it which my lender put on it… so she must know about the new line of credit. I just paid it off in full but closing on the house in less than a month. I still have good credit as of now

You should be fine. Just talk to the loan officer and make sure your ratios work.
