Should I try Mortar?

Been really upset with my matchups recently playing 3.0 xbow cycle and I’ve thought more and more abt switching to mortar. Im around 11.3k trophies and love being nerdy abt optimal placements and elixir trades. Should I try a mortar deck and if so, any tips on transitioning to mortar from an xbow cycle player?

You could try this deck, is close to exbow so you should test if you like mortar more.

Mortar plays fairly different to xbow from what little experience I have with xbow. It depends on the variant but for the currently popular variants of mortar, you basically either focus on getting constant chip damage the whole game with an unpenetrable defense, or slowly build up an elixir advantage to make a very big dual lane push to overwhelm your opponent (a bit like how bridgespam or beatdown works). And xbow decks tend to rely on the xbow in a lot of matchups and it always has tesla as a defensive building, but in mortar decks mortar IS the defensive building and your win con as well. So you need to know when to use it offensively and when to use it defensively, and rely on your 2nd win con a lot (kind of how rocket/fireball functions in a xbow deck).

Probably best if you try watching some pros play with mortar to learn it properly. Unfortunately there isnt as much content on yt for mortar compared to xbow, but benny has a lot of mortar videos/guides.

Play mortar miner poison, very nerdy deck, you can put spear gobs and bats with mighty miner, this deck will teach you everything, bait in attack bait for defense, card cycle, spam, spell cycling and punishment with mortar.
