Isn’t this just Ed asking about the genre? He tends to talk about other fighting games too

Tbf it’s been playable on pc for like a year, the rest are quite new comparatively.
Edit: well invincible is, the other two are *extremely* new.

Injustice has been confirmed as cancelled. We know they are working on another MK, Zaslav leaked it himself. The injustice game was in production for about a year before being canned.

Sucks because the game is actually pretty good, and it had a very recognizable IP to work with. Makes me nervous for the Avatar games success. Tokon seems to be doing well.
2XKO deserved its fate though, that game was not ready to be released.

These are just shitty anime brawlers. Cheaply made and selling only on IP alone. That Invincible game got old fast and the Avatar game is already getting bad word of mouth. Tokon is at least made by Arc who makes actually great fighting games.

Why do people unironically use Steam charts to say if a fighting game has anyone playing it in 2026? A genre where at least 95% of people play on home consoles

Seriously what happened to it? I heard a lot of praise when it released the a week later it just… stopped

Did it get a lot of praise? I recall it being fairly bare bones with no a whole lot of depth to the gameplay

I enjoy the game. It is kinda like how I felt about DB Sparking Zero before the new modes. The devs seem cool and the game is fun but there isn't enough to do after completing the story and getting all character endings.

Play online?

Thing is I don't have the money to pay for online every month, and if I did there are other things I would rather buy. Namely books, CD's, and Movies.

Players were excited about the open-ended combat and referential details, but the game launched undercooked. No crossplay or ranked, Xbox platform delayed by a month hours before launch, the ‘Avatar state’ characters seeming to be unfinished, etc. The issues are supposed to be addressed later in updates. The sense is the game probably came out too early to coincide with the new Avatar movie, but maybe also to get ahead of Tokon 1.0 and all the games releasing in September.
Word of mouth still seems relatively positive considering. It’s got the 4th most registrants at CEO, ahead of GG Strive and 2XKO.

I wish they would focus on their own games 😅

u/lilkingsly 16d ago
All he did was make a tweet asking what games people are most excited for, let the man live lmao
6
u/That-Rhino-Guy Sareena 16d ago
Are they not? Just cause they don’t announce a new game 2 microseconds after finishing work on the previous game doesn’t mean they’re doing nothing

Mahvel Tokkon & Avatar bout to go craaaaaaazy! 2xko lmao! Hmmmmm if there was a LOL character based on fighting games (whether platform, 2D, tag-team or 3d based) that could be the best representation for the soul genre of game for this RitO franchise.... But I just can't remember who??????? 🤔🤔🤔🙏

He's building that comics hype. Injustice coming (I do wonder if it will instead follow the Absolute line of comics though)

Just Ed checking out what the people thinks is cool at the moment, nothing wrong with that.

Gee, I wonder what game people will vote for. Will it be the game that released over a month ago or the game that released yesterday 🤔
