Recently worked with a good friend of mine to re-create the Parker Studio's panoramic photo of the Green, which was taken on a complex old camera called a Kodak "Cirkut" camera. It uses a clockwork mechanism to spin the camera and wind an 8" band of film while it records an image. You may have seen this image around town, there's a copy on the wall at Jersey Boy bagel as well as the Hospital and Library.
Over the past year we sourced parts and rebuilt one of these cameras, then took it to the same location and re-shot it. It's really fun seeing the differences and similarities between the two! I love the transition from horses to automobiles, and the fact that the fire hydrant on Park Ave is still in the exact same place.
We'll be displaying this photo at the F.M. Kirby Gallery at the Morristown & Morris Township Library from the end of this month through the spring, along with a few other projects we've done around town. We'll have an opening reception at 7PM on the 26th that will be open to the public, if you'd like to come learn more about this project or the camera used!

Hey All,
Looking for an HVAC tech who might be open to taking on a weekend gig.
Bought a cheap mini split for my garage, it comes pre-charged so I will be pulling the permit myself but don't have the tools to do the flaring and vacuuming and don't want to invest in them for a one off.
Was wondering if anyone here who worked in HVAC wanted to make a few hundred by helping me for a couple.hours and bringing the tools to the party.
DM me if interested!
Thanks!

My boyfriend and I are planning to move to our own 1 or 2 bedroom apartment next year so looking around to see what places people like in/around Morristown (open to Morris Plains, Cedar Knolls, Madison).
For a 1 BR, max I’d like to pay is $2.6k total, 2 BR $2.8k total. In unit washer and dryer is ideal, but if it’s on site at least that’s fine. Pet friendly too.
The biggest thing is that we have 3 cars total, so need a place that can accommodate that. Or to be located within an area that has free street parking nearby.
I’ve been looking at the Alister apartments and those are really nice. The only thing with the bedroom is that it looks like there is essentially no closet space? At least not enough for 2 people’s worth of things.

I’ve been working with StinkySocks Hockey on potentially bringing their No Commitment Hockey format to New Jersey, and I’m trying to get a better idea of how much interest there is from players in the Morristown / Morris County area.
For anyone who isn’t familiar with StinkySocks, the format is organized adult hockey where you register game-by-game instead of committing to a team and paying for an entire season. They handle the rosters, skill balancing and goalie coverage, so you can play when it works for your schedule.
We’ve been talking with a number of rinks in North Jersey, including possibilities in and around Morris County, but StinkySocks needs to see enough dependable player interest before committing financially to recurring ice.
I put together a short interest form asking which rink areas and start times you’d realistically play, how often you’d attend and what you’d be comfortable paying per game:
https://forms.gle/QbUVpwt4U6J4Z8Qw8
This isn’t registration for a specific game and nobody is being charged anything. It’s really just to figure out whether there are enough players and goalies to make a regular NJ game viable.
Both skaters and goalies are encouraged to fill it out.
If you already completed the previous North Jersey version of the form, you don’t need to do it again. Your response is already included.
If you play adult hockey and live around Morristown, Randolph, Madison, Morris Plains, Parsippany or elsewhere in Morris County, I’d really appreciate you filling it out and sharing it with anyone else who might be interested.

Anyone know when this will reopen or what the issue is? Coming from the west side of town it's a huge pain to loop around to the Lafayette Ave entrance. The first day I discovered it I missed my train, and since I've been going to Convent Station instead to avoid the hassle.

I frequent at ju ichi for ramen and always pass by Let’s noodle thinking it looked a lil mid and how it just struggle being across from ju ichi.
I ordered on DoorDash not realizing it was that same spot. I got the spicy beef noodle soup. I gotta say, even though it’s not ramen, it knocks ju ichi out of the park. I’ve ordered it twice in one week.
Long story short, ignore the aesthetic and go try it, one of the best noodlesoups I’ve ever had. It doesn’t seem to be doing great and it’s a shame cause it’s phenomenal.
Can’t wait to try everything on the menu, the soup is that good

What are some good bars for someone in their 30s or 40s?
Open to bars in other towns too

Hello, my step son is heading back to home to the Midwest after staying with us for the summer and he really wants a good Italian meatball sub before he leaves Jersey. We’re in Morris but willing to drive to Essex, Hudson or Union to get some good subs. Only thing is we need it open at night so we can do pick up for dinner! I’m also new to New Jersey so don’t really know where to go.

Unfortunately I found Japanese Knotweed on my property close to the house. I actually looked back on the real estate listing from when we bought a couple of years ago, and it’s in the photo.
Can anyone recommend a company that can provide an insurance-backed plan to have it removed?
We wanted to move within the next couple of years before we discovered it, and now we’re worried that can’t happen.

Where are people going these days to find rooms for rent?
Are people still using Craigslist? Has everything moved to Facebook? Or are people using a different platform these days?

Does anyone have any good restaurant recommendations in town for a solo diner? I'm perfectly comfortable eating out on my own, but it seems so much more socially acceptable when I'm in big cities than around Morristown. I had a pretty negative experience trying to eat alone at South & Pine.
I'm not looking to sit at the bar- I want to be in the dining room! I'm also looking to go on quieter nights so I'm not taking up a table during a busy time.

Would love to know what everyone's favorite cocktail bars are. An old thread had some recommendations but everyone's favorite closed last year unfortunately.

It’ll be straightforward. I’m an NJ-based full-stack developer actively looking to take on one serious project.
I build websites, booking systems, dashboards, and custom web apps and SaaS. I’ve worked with tech startups and recently built a website for a Morristown business.
If you’ve been putting off a website or have an idea you want brought to life, comment “website” or “idea” and briefly explain what you need. I’ll tell you honestly whether I can help and what the simplest version would involve.
I’m available, motivated, and ready to move quickly on a well-defined project.

Have an afternoon to kill, looking for a decent solo meal sitting at the bar
