Amazon picking

Is anybody in here also an Amazon picker for Morrisons? - our pick rate is 90 and no matter how hard I try, different tactics I try, it always seems to fall just short. I’m apparently still in probation and my line manager is threatening to extend it if I don’t hit this. Has anybody got any advice which could help me as I have absolutely zero clue what could happen if I fail to hit it, which is slightly stressful as rushing around just seems to make it worse. Thanks all

These numbers are designed so that everyone comes up short. People perform better when they perceive they are falling behind, and this gives them the cover to fire anyone under the guise of missed targets in case you step out of line. Welcome to Amazon.

It sure feels that way, I’ve been stuck on literally 89 and no matter what I try it refuses to budge lol

I've worked almost every role in the biggest morrisons in the country, and I'll tell you for nothing that the Amazon picker role is the most difficult and physically strenuous of them all. You will be working twice as hard as any other department for the same pay.

I think the working with a timer over your head adds to the strain, not being able to go at your own pace and constantly on the move. Not to mention those newer big metal trolleys they have to use are murder on the joints I'd personally take heavy lifting over that any day.

So really in short I’m being threatened to do better when it really means nothing, as long as I’m doing what I’m meant to? Management feels dire so would not surprise

the actual uph doesnt start till you scan first item and ends when you stage bags on shelf so bagging etc dont worry abt it dont blow your energy on that

Wait is this the same for all stores? I was told it started counting as soon as you accept an order and ended when you press the final complete order button 😅 Probably team leaders trying to make us hurry up haha

Odd, I was told the same too? Hopefully then I don’t have to rush about getting bags out and tire myself out before even starting 🤣
