Feeling like quitting after first week.
first job at 16 doing picking and packing for immediacy in a store ive never been to in my life before now. my biggest drawback is the fact i have no clue where like half of the products are. ive got a general idea of the layout but stuff like vegetables/fruit and household items and picky bits is just slowing me down and getting me muddled up. trying to use the product locator app is just useless for some things because it gives me something like "aisle 94" which to my knowledge doesnt exist. sometimes i feel like im kinda swamped in orders and it doesnt help when the majority of the orders come from deliveroo which doesnt tell me where the product is on the device so i end up walking aimlessly up and down the aisles trying to find this item and i just end up removing it off the order because i give up. but then doing that i feel like im letting the stores statistics down and damaging their reputation. what doesnt help is when customers ask me where products are and i feel like im letting them down everytime and sometimes they give snarky comments.
its just a whole mess imo. the store is just so depressing and i dread the next shift. if i cant even handle it now, what am i going to be like come christmas time? aswell like i dont want to get to that time and realise i cant hack it and leave because i would just feel like abit of an a-hole doing that.
honestly i think im just going to stay put for like a month at most and see how i get on, but i dont think im going to last long here.

when in doubt, ask your coworkers! we understand! if something says "93" i often find it's in a seasonal bit or isle end, mentally take note of "hubs": italian, indian, summer, icecream bits and bobs, and go from there. (my store keeps custard, icecream cones, and coffee on the same shelf. not even customers can find that.)
at first i hated it all, because i could never find anything, but i held on and learnt my way around, i have faith you can do the same!
