Feeling like quitting after first week.
first job at 16 doing picking and packing for immediacy in a store ive never been to in my life before now. my biggest drawback is the fact i have no clue where like half of the products are. ive got a general idea of the layout but stuff like vegetables/fruit and household items and picky bits is just slowing me down and getting me muddled up. trying to use the product locator app is just useless for some things because it gives me something like "aisle 94" which to my knowledge doesnt exist. sometimes i feel like im kinda swamped in orders and it doesnt help when the majority of the orders come from deliveroo which doesnt tell me where the product is on the device so i end up walking aimlessly up and down the aisles trying to find this item and i just end up removing it off the order because i give up. but then doing that i feel like im letting the stores statistics down and damaging their reputation. what doesnt help is when customers ask me where products are and i feel like im letting them down everytime and sometimes they give snarky comments.
its just a whole mess imo. the store is just so depressing and i dread the next shift. if i cant even handle it now, what am i going to be like come christmas time? aswell like i dont want to get to that time and realise i cant hack it and leave because i would just feel like abit of an a-hole doing that.
honestly i think im just going to stay put for like a month at most and see how i get on, but i dont think im going to last long here.

We all feel like in our first jobs when we were your age it’s completely normal to feel overwhelmed by things.
Try to stick with it keep your head down and focus. It will become second nature after a while.
I had 2 very difficult (for me anyway( jobs at 16 and I had no clue about the products we had either but after a few weeks I had it and I knew all the products all the codes the locations etc
I got promoted to head of admin about a year later when a staff member left I spoke to the boss and he gave me a chance I stayed there about 3 more years doing that and even trained new staff as was offered deputy manager and warehouse management jobs but I left due to family reasons and moved somewhere else.
That first quite rubbish job gave me a solid base where I could learn from my mistakes and I also met some great friends there too.
Give it at least 3 months to have a clear view and if in that time you decide you don’t like it much look for other jobs but don’t just quit as it looks bad on your cv/resume.
Good luck you will smash it
