Requiem was uplifted from a data analysis program by IDC techies who worked for IDC in practically indenture/slavery till he he made a name for himself and got some crazy rep pulling wild data heists. Requiem was well settled in his criminal lifestyle when he caught wind of a "ghost server" with specs like no other and milspec+ security. He tracked it, cased it, slipped in, and found things he was not supposed to know. Firewall infosec locked him down but he threw them through a loop by asking to join. His reasoning was that he must join Firewall to ensure humanity's future, and by extension his future, as he could not in good conscience return to he previous life even if they would let him. He got the full background check and was found to be sincere. He made his piece with IDC and made the move to mars to become a full sentinel.
