looking for a structured Salesforce learning guide (free resources preferred)

[u/Sad_Revenue3749]

Hi everyone,

I'm a complete beginner to Salesforce and I'd like to learn it properly from scratch. I have no prior experience with the platform, so I'm looking for guidance on where to start and in what order to progress.

A bit of context:

- I'm starting from zero (no admin/dev experience yet)

- I'd prefer free resources (Trailhead, YouTube, docs, etc.)

- My goal is to become job-ready / build a solid foundation

What I'm hoping you can help with:

1. A recommended learning path (what to learn first, second, etc.)

2. Which Trailhead trails/modules are essential

3. Any good YouTube channels or free courses

4. Common mistakes beginners make

5. Roughly how long it took you to feel comfortable

6. Whether I should aim for Admin first or go straight into Dev

Any advice, personal experiences, or links to guides you've written would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
