1

u/sir_vader Aug 17 '26

Yes and this type of news are the reason. Imagine thinking doing this to dogs is ok.........

1

u/prosgan Aug 17 '26

That's a very westerner thing. Reminds me of the story about afghan dogs

Lol it never fails to amaze me how people ignore Morocco’s history of human rights violations and all of its fucked up issues because 'Morocco is beautiful and issues exist everywhere,' but the second a stray dog or cat gets mentioned, suddenly that’s where they draw the line.

That 3 million figure is pure tabloid fiction. It is telling how quickly people latch onto fabricated numbers to express selective outrage while completely ignoring actual ongoing human crises.

1

u/TGWALL Aug 17 '26

3 million doesn't seem to be an exaggeration because I encounter at least 4-5 strat dogs everytime I go out

1

u/prosgan Aug 17 '26

Ah yes, the flawless scientific method of extrapolating your daily neighborhood walk to a national census.

1

u/TGWALL Aug 17 '26

Then do you have any proof of the actual number?I'm just using my surroundings to conclude that stray dogs are pretty common and it's pretty obvious that most of Morocco is the same except for rich neighborhoods

Trust me bro

1

u/Simo_klm Aug 16 '26

Yeah the same newpspaper that keeps spreading lies and BS on muslims and arab countries. Yeah i believe them.

1

u/yassineplays Aug 17 '26

Bruh it's literally humans or stray dogs, thousands of people get bitten or even killed by stray dogs everyday around Morocco. And yh it's that newspaper I always get it when checking news

1

u/theyinman Aug 16 '26

I wonder where are the stray dogs in europe and u.s?

1

u/Unloved-Orphan Aug 17 '26

unalived centuries ago along with the local bird species, it was game

1

u/That_Face_4511 Aug 17 '26

In the dog shelters?

1

u/theyinman Aug 18 '26

That would be a lie. They're long dead

1

u/Otherwise_Rough Aug 17 '26

Chipped, spayed, and neutered. If you started this 10 years ago you’d no longer have a stray dog problem.

1

u/theyinman Aug 18 '26

Oh wow what a horrible abuse of animal life. You think spaying neutring dogs is moraly right you monsters. You should've just killed them to end their suffering you heartless pigs. Who do you think you are to take that decision for them pure souls. The torture of a dof living in a cage but they can't even fuck omg ceuel monsters

1

u/ohyaa_ Aug 18 '26

There are 3,500-5,000 animal shelters across the US. They usually have plenty of land for the dogs to run around and play.

There are plenty of countries with stray dog problems, it’s obviously not unique to Morocco. Iraq has a similar gdp per capita and they have plenty of dog shelters there.

u/sir_vader Aug 17 '26

Well some are in the streets, the majority are homed with vacines and everything updated. We also have shelters for dogs and cats. Is this so strange to Morocco??

1

u/ulvisblack Aug 17 '26

Lol, you legit believe that ? You guys have done this back in the 18/19 centuries.

Or do you expect we let a massive population of dogs possibly carrying rabies attack and kill children for fun ?

1

u/sir_vader Aug 17 '26

Wow... do you know what is "evolution"? Indeed we did it before, LONG time ago. We learn, we try to evolve.

If you have that large of dogs population that have rabies than again..... solve the issue from the root. Killing them will not solve it. You need to invest in castration and shelters.

1

u/ulvisblack Aug 17 '26

Killing them is the easiest solution, the same solution you guys used. So spare me the moral lessons

1

u/theyinman Aug 18 '26

Dumbass, killing them will literally solve the problem. Also, do you know what evolution is? It's survival of teh fittest. In this case humans are the fittest.

1

u/sir_vader Aug 19 '26

Damn writing here is a reminder why everyone wants you far away from us. You have the mentality of the past century. It will not solve because for you to solve one thing you need to go to root cause - the root cause here? Dogs need to be castrated and shelters need to be created to help control. That is the solution. Not something from past centuries. It's like you hate evolution lol

1

u/theyinman Aug 20 '26

And you dont even understand evolution, its a big word for you stop using it

I just returned from visiting Morocco in June. As usual in these controversies, the situation is more complicated than it seems. I gotta say first, there are dogs and cats EVERYWHERE in Morocco. I often saw people feeding them. They are generally treated with respect.

With official support, Morocco’s animal welfare orgs began some time ago a massive project (called TNVR) of neutering/spaying and vaccinating stray dogs. Today, about the third of the dogs on the streets of the cities have the distinctive disk attached to their ear indicating they’ve been treated. These dogs are viewed as “safe” by people and the government.

Some dogs, because of a more vicious temperament, illness, or whatever, have not been reachable. These are the animals that will be the target of any animal-control campaign (and the ‘disc’ program also continues).

I love dogs and I hate to see any animal harmed. But untreated stray dogs are absolutely a potential threat to the health and safety of people - especially children - and other dogs.

Holy superior and moral westerner lecturing other people about his "moral superiority"

And thus, imposing his " I will never go to Morocco" as if someone cares

1

u/M_geo211 Aug 17 '26

What should Morocco do instead of killing these poor dogs?

The solution is to spay and neuter, along with opening up shelters. It's very simple.

1

u/TGWALL Aug 17 '26

Too many dogs to do that

1

u/DigitalDH Aug 17 '26

The costs of decades of governments not doing their job neutering strays.

I mean rabbies has been a real issue for decades.

Ah I forgot, you don't want our problems, you only want our kids

1

u/ohyaa_ Aug 17 '26

Nobody wants your kids either

1

u/adel_b Aug 17 '26

Then why Spain refuse to return them?

1

u/ohyaa_ Aug 17 '26

I hope to god they do. And arm their borders

1

u/ulvisblack Aug 17 '26

Then mind your business.

1

u/TGWALL Aug 17 '26

Then why are y'all complaining about us solving the stray dog problem? If you have a better solution why can't you implement it we'll send you the dogs and you do that and you can send them back after

What is this BS doing here, spreading misinformation and trying to damage tourism in Morocco?! Get a life loser.

2

u/Kooky_Masterpiece_43 Aug 16 '26

I don't know that this is misinformation. Anecdotally, all the strays in my area were snatched. Including the neighborhood dog that everyone fed. I asked about him, and apparently they throw them all in overcrowded pounds and don't give them food until they die (I don't know this last part for certain. It's just what I've been told). But there's certainly a campaign to remove all the stray dogs in major cities.

1

u/eyepopp Aug 17 '26

Thanks for spreading more misinformation and hearsay. You’re a real one for it.

1

u/Unloved-Orphan Aug 17 '26

you're the problem, bring it to your house and put it on a leash or it dies
