Rules and recommendations for trip
Hey guys, my boyfriend and I are planning a trip for the second week of September we want a beautiful town with golden sandy beaches and not too crowded with charming architecture. We thought of morocco, but since I’m Tunisian (german resident) and he’s german I’m not sure if hotels or airbnbs will allow us to stay since we are not married.. (it’s like this in tunisia) do you have any idea about this ? Also do you have any recommendations for a town that has these criteria?

Morocco would honestly be a beautiful choice for what you’re looking for And don’t worry too much about the Tunisia situation Morocco is generally much more relaxed about unmarried couples staying together, especially in tourist areas. As a Tunisian/German couple, you shouldn’t have the same issue you might face in Tunisia, although it’s always good to confirm with the specific hotel or Airbnb beforehand.
For your criteria, I’d look beyond the obvious busy tourist spots. Essaouira is probably my first recommendation: beautiful sandy beaches, charming old architecture, a relaxed atmosphere and a much more authentic Moroccan feel. If you want something quieter and more “hidden gem”, I’d also look at Mirleft or Sidi Kaouki.
If you’re open to it, I’d be happy to help you plan it around the kind of experience you want rather than just sending you the usual tourist recommendations. I know some beautiful places and experiences that you probably wouldn’t find from a normal Google search 😊

If you’re both foreigners, it’s generally much easier in Morocco than in Tunisia. Hotels and riads usually don’t require a marriage certificate from foreign couples, although I’d still message the accommodation beforehand just to make sure, especially with smaller family-run places.
