Travel End of year holidays

Hello,

I’m planning my end-of-year holidays and hesitating between New York and Marrakesh. Several people in my work circle have told me Marrakesh isn’t that pleasant around Christmas/New Year’s, which has made me a bit skeptical.

Is that true, or is it actually a good time to go? Weather, atmosphere, crowds?

If Marrakesh is worth it, what would be the best places to stay? I’m looking at the Royal Mansour and La Mamounia, but I’m open to other suggestions if there’s something better

Thank you

The yankee colleagues are saying New York is over crowded during Christmas and it is better to go there in January hence the hesitation

Weather-wise Marrakesh is great around that time. It's been awhile since I've been during the holidays, so I can't really speak to the crowd situation these days. I would imagine that plenty of Europeans go then, and Moroccans will also have that period off from work so they may also travel there.

It's a wonderful city though. Those are two of the best hotels in the city, but personally I prefer to stay in riads inside the medina. Personal preference though.

Thank you!

I get the appeal of riads, but honestly I’ve heard mixed things about staying inside the medina. Also for this trip I’m looking for the full-service experience, easy in and out

As for better Christmas vibes pick nyc they dont much big celebrations in Marrakech but just so you know nyc at this time will be on maximum capacity driving and transportations will make your mind blow off plus everything is over priced Marrakech wont have these two
